Finally! She found how to get up to the rooftop! Now she had never done something like this at her old school, but this was a different school… much different. Besides, she rather thought she deserved some time alone without anyone else around. For a little while at least, because eventually she would probably head in with a lonely feeling. Her parents and brother were gone and her grandparents had sent her away. Pushing rather depressing thoughts away, she brought out her iPod and put it on shuffle before placing the buds in her ears. Music going, she sat down in a rather dry looking spot and brought her knees up, wrapping her arms around her legs.
Her music was probably a little louder than what the recommended volume might have been, but she needed the music. Recently she had found herself music deprived and that was never a good thing. A song she knew most of the lyrics to popped up and she started singing along at the end.
”Gang fights Fatal strikes We lie on the wild side.”
Wild Side by Mötley Crüe had just played on her iPod and since it was part of the later lyrics in the song, it ended a little bit later. She fought the urge to giggle at the irony of things. This place certainly seemed to fit in the song. Music, wasn’t it grand? The iPod was on shuffle and another song started playing. Grinning at the familiarity of the song, she would let it play for a while before she would start singing along. Besides, she wasn’t a bad singer anyway.
”Welcome to the jungle It gets worse here everyday Ya learn ta live like an animal In the jungle where we play If you got a hunger for what you see You'll take it eventually You can have anything you want But you better not take it from me.”
Dang. What was up with these songs that she’s always liked? Her dad pretty much raised her with this music, but to be realizing how much they seemed to fit in with this place- amazing. Although, not necessarily a good thing. She was sure though that as long as she had her music, she would live with it. She had heard Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N’ Roses plenty of times when she was growing up. Same went for other bands too and the memories passed through her head as she let the song finish.
”Round and round With love we'll find a way just give it time Round and round What comes around goes around I'll tell you why. ”
And just like that, she was singing a part of Ratt’s Round and Round next. She laughed a little at the end of that last night and realized she was warm despite the weather. Being content with music and layered up clothing-wise seemed to do that to her. Three songs had passed though and she looked around, wondering if someone had in fact went up on the roof. It probably would have been a good idea to leave the volume down enough so she could have heard if someone came up, but no… she had wanted her music.
Notes: I had fun making this! =D So any character who likes this type of music is definitely welcomed... or just finds interest in the lyrics.

Amanda had decided to do something new, which seemed to be a big thing with her lately. Always trying new things. Which scared her worse then men themselves. She didn't like a lot of things, new things were one of those. She wasn't sure what would happen but so far nothing bad has.
So she grabbed her guitar, and her ipod and stuck it on shuffle. Okay so she had all kinds of music on there. From heavy metal(to scare people off), to soft rock for the times she's in the mood and her all time favorite 80's music. Yup she's a child of the 90's who still listened to old 80s rock. It had nothing to do with her parents and more so to do with herself.
When she started getting into music it seemed the best idea at the time. It was easy to play on the guitar(or so she thought so) and she seriously enjoyed it. It also was very soothing in the times where she was overly stressed.
So as she walked up the stairs she smiled when Nirvana drifted on to the ipod as she opened the door to the staircase to the roof. SHe wasn't one who liked heights but she wasn't scared. She just rather not die from a slip, but she was sure she could handle this as she gripped tight to her guitar and came up to the top of the stairs and opened the door to the roof and looked around. She saw a girl who seemed to be singing, so she hit pause on her ipod, honestly curious.
She of course recognized all three songs and gave a smile as she let the girl finish off the third one and walked over to her. "Glad to see I'm not the only one here who likes 80s rock."

It was probably a good thing she had turned the volume down on her iPod as she looked around. A girl with a guitar case and her iPod had apparently just arrived on the rooftop with her. She offered a grin and nodded. ”Same here. I so wish I grew up in the 80’s mostly for the music, but some of the fashion was not that bad either.” Oh the fashion… and music, couldn’t live without music.
Waving a hand, Kyla motioned around her. ”Feel free to sit anywhere you’d like. I won’t mind if you play.” She offered another smile and rose her hand to take out an ear bud. The other girl obviously had to have recognized at least one of those songs if she knew they were 80’s. A rather hopeful thought came to Kyla then as she glanced at the girl’s guitar case. Could this girl actually play one of those songs or any other of those great hits from that time period? If she could, she just might by Ky’s new best friend.
Music was something that she just enjoyed so much and anybody who could play an instrument or sing pretty much gained a certain amount of respect from her. She only wished she could play the guitar so she could rock out to AC/DC and some of the other bands and songs she liked no matter their time period. Secretly, she really hoped that this girl played something she could recognize. If she didn’t, chances are that Kyla would like whatever she played anyway. It was just nice hearing someone play an instrument here and there. Meeting a fellow musician was an added bonus around here, but as soon as she thought about it, she realized she had not introduced herself. ”Sorry there, I’m Kyla by the way. Nice to meet you.”
