Cassie was unsure on what to do here for fun. She obviously wasn't going anywhere near the kitchen, afraid of what would happen in there. She instead as she walked out of the dorms she turned and walked towards the courtyard. Why? She wanted to be outside. Where she could sit in the snow and stare at the sky.
In Alaska, or at least the part she lived in. It was dark most of the day, but the sun shone for a little while. Those were the times when she went out and had fun. Dancing in the gleaming sunlight, looking up at the sky until the sun went down. Ah those were the days.
Oh but here? The sun shone longer and that amazed her as she skipped and twirled towards the courtyard. Her dress swirled around her thighs as she twirled, she laughed and tilted her head back, not looking where she was going.
Tripping she still laughed and just stayed on the ground, she could see people,, not far away but far enough where they probably weren't paying any attention to her. So she spread her legs and arms and made a snow angel before she just stared up at the sky. Watching the clouds and making out different cool things in them.
"oh there's a dog," she said talking to herself and tracing the dog in the clouds with her finger.

Like the majority of everyday, Hayden was out and about and just being himself. He had left his dog Billy in the dorm room because people had been stepping on him lately. So in turn, he had set up a catapolt and had watched as the cruel folks were surprisingly tossed in to the frozen fountain in the front of the school. No harm was done and he left the scene without a scratch. He pleaded crazy and everything was left at that. Naturally, he really was crazy, so it was easy for him to pull off.
Hayden was skipping through the courtyards with his hands behind his back. His large square glasses, currently wrapped with tape on the nose piece, were bouncing obnoxiously on his face. He was on the hunt for bigfoot actually. That was his goal for this afternoon, and he was darn well gonna find him too! He was even blowing in his kazoo the song of the bigfoot. The annoying sound could probably be heard for miles, which was what he was aiming for. He had heard that the giant beast was in town and he was going to find him.
He paused in his mission though, as he saw a girl fall down only to start making a snow angel. His heart skipped with excitement, his mind thrown off it's general direction. He loved snow angels! Skipping up to her, he fell down right beside her, careful to not mess up her art. Pulling the kazoo out from between his lips, he watched as she pointed out a dog in the clouds. Grinning, he spoke up, "Well my oh my, it looks like Billy!" He pointed to another one, "And that one looks like a giraffe I used to have! I had to find him a new home though. His neck kept getting all cramped up when he'd stay in the house. Poor little guy."

Cass's eyes widened as she heard someone fall to the snow beside her. She wasn't used to people coming near her, she was used to them staying far away from her. Even more surprising was that the boy had started to make a snow angel too.
Of course Cass wanted to be alone, she wished she was alone. But she wouldn't tell anyone to leave her alone, she wasn't like that. Plus this guy wasn't hiding from her, maybe she should embrace the chance to make an actual friend. Not that she actually knew HOW to make friends. But hell it couldn't be that hard. Could it?
She looked at him when he spoke, "Is Billy your dog?" She looked at the sky again watching the dog float away and merge with another cloud to be just a big puffy white thing. She followed his fingers towards the giraffe and sat up. "You had a giraffe? That had to be the coolest thing ever."
She pulled her feet up under herself and gave a soft smile, "I always wanted an animal, but Alaska is cold for most things. I had a husky but it didn't really like me much." She shrugged and stared at the sky again. "I'm Cass by the way," she said softly pointing at a new cloud that formed a rose. "That one is pretty"

Moving his arms back and forth a bit more, allowing the wings of the snow angel to be a bit more exaggerated, Hayden continued to look up at the sky and pick out shapes in the clouds. By this time, most would look at him like he were crazy or just absolutely ignore him and turn their head in the other direction. Turning his own head toward the girl, he smiled great big at her question. "Ey, Billy's a great ole' hound he is." Naturally, he was the only that could see him, but that hadn't stopped a few people from petting him and treating him with kindness like any other dog. Who knew, maybe she would come to like Billy.
Nodding his head, he let out a low chuckle. "Gary was his name. And he would give me rides to school on occasion." Hayden enjoyed remembering the old days. Going to elementry school and hanging out at the mental hospital. It was actually weird to be around such normal people. Naturally, they all had something wrong with them, but not like back home. They were all hooked on something... or afraid of something... back home the folks were just crazy in the head. End of story.
Sitting up, Hayden nodded and smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you Cass. I'm Hayden. Or Murdock. I go by both." He would have held out his hand for her to shake, but he had a thing with people touching his hands when he didn't know them too well. The same went for his pants. He hated when anyone touched his pant leg, including Billy. Looking up to the sky, he tilted his head to the side and leaned back on his palms, propping himself up. "Oo, I like that one." He popped his kazoo back between his lips and blew on it. "It's bigfoot!" The kazoo popped out of his mouth and landed on his lap as he looked up and pointed toward a cloud resembling the giant hairy beast.

Cass lifted her hands above her head, liking the way the sun shone onto them. She blinked slightly and looked at Hayden. She'd probably love Billy. Invisible or not it was a dog. And dog's were amazing. Or at least she thought they were anyway. So she smiled, "Can I meet Billy? He sounds amazing." She ran a hand through her hair, watching the sun shine one her blonde hair making it seem almost cold. She was an easily entertaining girl, which was something her mother had liked. She could through her a bone and tell her to go the hell away and she would.
"Oh that sounds so fun," she said with a bright smile. "I wish i had one." And that she did wish, if she had a giraffe well her life wouldn't of sucked as much as it did. She probably wouldn't of tried to kill herself and she probably wouldn't of ended up here in this place. But still she was here and she had met a few good people.
People who weren't like the one's at home. Who weren't normal. She meet people similar to her. Not as crazy, but problemed. And problemed people seemed to get her better.
"Well it's very nice to meet you Hayden," she laid back down on the snow and moved her arms back and forth. She listened to him playing for a little while before he stopped and pointed at a cloud. "Oh my god. That is amazing." She smiled brightly, "This is fun. Clouds are very amazing." She tilted her head, trying to find something pretty, but she couldn't find any so she gave up and played with the hims of her shirt.

It wasn‘t often that Hayden had this much fun with anyone. He had loads of fun by himself, but rarely if never with someone else. And to top it off, she wanted to meet Billy! Hayden couldn’t have been happier. ”Oh course you can meet Sir Billy. He loves the ladies, ya know.” He wiggled his eyebrows at her playfully before sitting up and stretching.
”I‘ll get you a giraffe, Cass. If you promised to take good care of it.” Smiling at her, he thought of where he could get one. And naturally, his thought process usually consisted of him speaking out loud. ”There‘s always the zoo, or perhaps we could just get a hold of someone in Africa who would be willing to ship one over here. Mine seemed to do well in this weather. We‘ll just have to find a good place to keep it so it doesn‘t get a kink in it‘s neck like Gary. Poor fellow.”
He leaned back and looked up at the clouds with her. Hearing her said that she loved the fluffy white things, he chuckled. ”Clouds are quite outstanding. Like cotton candy and marshmellows. They make me want to float on them… swim in a giant pillow of deliciousness that was never ending and the most comfortable thing ever created.” Hayden was quite the rambler, though he didn‘t quite mean to be. At least there was always a conversation with him.

Cass's eyes brightened, "Well I'm a lady." She gave a soft laugh, she liked dogs, and if they liked her the better it was. She smiled, "So he'd like me?" She wasn't really sure, cause most things didn't like her. Like her moms dog hated her guts. So she stayed away from it. It scared the crap out of her. She hoped Billy was cool.
Her smile brightned at the thought of having a giraffe, "OH REALLY?" She clapped her hands together almost like an excited toddler, or well like a toddler. This was the happiest moment in her life, "I'd take really really good care of it Hayden." She watched him as he thought, she didn't mind it at all, instead she just listened. It was nice to actually listen instead of talk. It felt like a kind of nice change for once. "Yeah a very good place.."
She looked up at the sky again and smiled, "Yup they are like marshmellows." She tilted her head adn thought about swimming in the sky and the way the wind would feel on her face and the comfy feeling of the clouds on her face. "That would be neat to be on a cloud. Or in the sky period," she said.
Turning to Hayden she smiled, "I'm glad I met you."
