As he said that it was better for him to not know people she looked towards him. Sure his phobia probably got in the way, but not knowing many people? That would drive her insane. She needed other people to manipulate and get what she wanted. She shrugged when he said that a few were nice, but mostly they weren’t.
She wanted to say ‘welcome to hawthorne’ but decided against it. It probably wasn’t the best idea. With her having to think fully about everything that she was saying would be hard. It was getting more and more of a trouble for her to keep her act up. Most people were here for a reason. And those reasons weren’t always good. Hell, Nathaniel thought she was here for drugs, big misunderstanding, but she wasn’t going to tell this boy that she was here for being anti-social.
”Who is your roommate? And I’ve met Gaby, she’s pretty cool. Clyde I haven’t really talked to, but hell, if he’s nice then he’s nice” she said smiling. When he mentioned Leo and Marilyn she smiled. Leo went from calling her hot, to a dumpster rat. Why, because she didn’t like his friend. ”You can judge them all you want. Marilyn is a bitch and Leo is a freak.” she said with a laugh. It wasn’t like half the school didn’t know that.

"Um.. Logan Sinclair," he told her, wondering if the name would sound familiar to her. She seemed to already know a few of the people he had mentioned so he figured she might know him or at least of him as well. Logan seemed nice enough, he was just like any other regular guy, nothing really stood out so far.
Nathaniel just smiled a little. Getting called a Ginger Wren was kind of weird.. Personally he couldn't see the resemblance at all, well.. maybe... No, no, definitely not. He wasn't soulless nor was he a bird and that was the end of that.
With a sigh he back out at the water. He had never been much of a conversationalist. Hell, he spent his time avoiding it and that much was obvious now with the severe lack of words. He tried a little but for the most part, he didn't care so much.If people were going to stick around and talk to him then he's talk to but if a conversation died then it was probably better than way anyway.

She smiled when he said that it was Logan. Logan had ‘sold’ her some Marlboros about a week ago. They were amazing, but hell, Marlboros were amazing. How anyone could smoke the other shit was beyond her. “He’s cool. I’ve met him before, but most likely before you were here” she said with a smile. Of course she had met him. Anyone willing to give her fags for the hell of it, let alone Marlboros deserved her attention.
She smiled back when he smiled just a little. She knew that he didn’t like Leo. Hell, Leo was only tolerable at certain points, and ever since ‘shark’ made her appearance those times were almost extinct. He wasn’t even funny anymore, more annoying. Something that she would deal with later, with one of her knives.
And this was why she wouldn’t be able to hold up her little game soon. Her thinking was going back to her knives and fire. Just what she wanted, destruction. She looked over at Nathaniel as he sighed. “So what do you think of Hawthorne so far?” she said trying to keep the conversation going.

"Probably," Nathaniel told her. He hadn't been here long and although she hadn't been here long either, it wasn't difficult to assume that she might have met Logan before that. Though with Nathaniel, it didn't really matter how long he was in a lace. He didn't socialise very much and that meant that he didn't make friends very easily and that in turn meant that the chances of him knowing a particular person wasn't as high as anyone else's .
"It's okay I guess," he said quietly, looking at the lake. He wasn't happy but he wasn't sad either. Just sort of quietly reflecting on everything, just the way he usually did. "It's just like any other place," he admitted. It was always the same. It didn't matter where it was, there were people, you got to know them, you ended up with friends and things were fine but it was never like that for Nathaniel.
He envied people like that, who could just go abut their lives, taking things like that for granted when it was so difficult for him. Not a lot of people knew Nathaniel very well but he didn't help that much either. "Sorry, I'm not the easiest person person to talk to," he told her apologetic.
