Making his way out toward the lake, the blonde moved at a steady pace. He was in no hurry to get there and stayed on the path, staring at the ground and occasionally looking up to ensure that he was going in the right direction.
Finally reaching the edge of it, Nathaniel paused for a moment and looked up and around him. It was nice out here. The quiet breeze against his skin, the soft sounds of near nothing. It was all very ambient and spectacular.
Nathaniel smiled at the thought and then took a few more steps forward until he reached a small section of rocks. Moving around he sat, leaning against the biggest of the rocks with his hands on idea side of him. It was nice to have all this space and not have to keep to himself. It was great not needing to keep his hands in his pockets for fear of brushing against someone who got too close.
Looking out, Nathaniel took the time to observe his surroundings, takings in all the beauty of it. The sky was nice and bright with soft fluffy clouds floating on as the world spined on its axis. It was kind of nice and he felt free out there.
The bright blue of the clean and clear water made it look so inviting. Nathaniel almost had to urge to just jump in and see what it was like but he stayed in his place, just admiring the view.

Cameron was walking along the shore of the lake. She had taken her shoes off earlier and was just walking along the shore letting the small waves blast up sometimes past her ankles. She smiled as it got the bottom of her jeans wet. Did she care, really not at this time. She was able to be free.
As in free as away from Hawthorne. She wasn’t near any of the annoying kids with problems. She was fine with that. As the shore began to get more and more rocky. She looked up and saw someone leaning against the rocks. She had been studying the shoreline.
She was happy with how things were. She moved over towards him and dropped her sandals. Leaning against the rock she smiled. ”Hello” she said softly. She kept looking towards the lake, it was peaceful out, one of the only times that it really was.

Nathaniel inched back just a fraction, but nothing too noticable. He even managed to smile back at the girl that was now next to him, "Hi" he answered back before turning his attention back to the lake in front of them. It was nice and calm and Nathaniel wished that he could always be that calm.. Too bad wishes never came true.
Being here was strange. He hadn't been around for too long but already he had met some interesting characters.. There were all sorts here.. A lot of crazy people he just couldn't understand and people that would rip his throat out without a second thought if he so much as looked at them wrong. It was all very strange and different and a little frightening but no more frightening than the thoughtof someone actually getting too close to him.. No, that scared him more than actually being hurt.
It was an odd thought to be much more afraid of a hand on his shoulder or a kiss of the cheek (which was just plain horrifying) than a punch or getting kicked in the stomach. Hell, he'd take the pain over it any day. Unfortunately being so alone and denying himself simple affection made him crave it more. He wanted it so much but feared it so much... It was a pretty crappy state to be in but it was something Nathaniel was stuck with, at least for now.
The girl seemed to be enjoying the view too and Nathaniel glanced back to make sure he still had her in his sights just in case. Still at least he could smile at her and act like he wasn't afraid of potentially coming into contact with her.

Cameron smirked as he just responded with Hi. Usually people were more talkative. Especially if they went to Hawthorne. Although she wasn’t sure if this kid went to Hawthorne. She knew something was up with this kid. It was the weekend visit time for the kids at Hawthorne and usually the South Haven High students stayed away from them.
”Your new to Hawthorne right?” she asked. She hadn’t checked the files in a while, well since she wanted to last, and she didn’t know how many and or who entered Hawthorne. She had seen him flinch slightly, even if it was only him moving slightly.
.”I’m in Hawthorne for having small anger problems and smoking. They don’t like minors smoking I guess” she said smiling. She was having a great time lying to different people on why she was sent to Hawthorne. She didn’t want people fully knowing though, why let people know that she was capable of murder, if only the girl she pushed off the roof died.

“Um.. Yeah.. My name’s Nathaniel,” he told her rather solemnly with a half smile. It sucked to be there but he was so yes, he was a new student Hawthorne and yes he knew it wasn’t the best place in the world to be but maybe it’d be better than home.. If he could even call it that. That house was hardly any kind of home.
Nathaniel just offered her an understanding smile.“Yeah, I guess they don’t,” he replied quietly. No, they probably didn’t like smoking or drinking or drugs and there were a lot of students here who were addicted to that stuff. Fortunately Nathaniel was not one of them. He didn’t have an addiction to tie him down, just fears that he didn’t even seem to feel at that moment.
He had taken note of the anger problems too but she did indicate that it was only minor and thus nothing to worry too much about. He would just have to be careful not to piss her off but for a boy who walked on eggshells most of his life, it wasn’t anything he couldn’t handle.
Still, he have her no hint of what he was there for. He didn’t think he needed to unless she asked and specifically wanted to know, though even then the details would probably be hidden since he could barely come to grips with it himself. There were just a lot of things that Nathaniel would rather ignore than think about.

She smiled when he said his name. At least he was being somewhat responsive. ”I’m Cameron.” she said before looking at him. She hated Hawthorne already, she only wanted to be here to be near Aleksei and cause more trouble with him. She smiled and let out a soft laugh as he said that he guessed that they didn’t like minors smoking.
Was she trying to seem normal? Yes, as much as she could right now. Faking emotions was rather difficult to her. She was able to attempt pretty well, but it always fell out fast. She hated having to act like a normal person, she liked the way she was. She didn’t have the attachment that everyone else did. Like she could feel pain, stuff like that, but she didn’t really care about anyone. Yeah Aleksei was something else, they cared about each other but if it came down to life and death she’d choose herself.
”What are you here for? The normal addictions? Or just something else?” she asked returning her gaze to the lake. It was beautiful, but mostly because of the fact that it was isolated. It was too much out of the way for people to really come here and visit. She was fine with that of course.

Nathaniel nodded. Cameron, he would have to remember that name. He tended to avoid most social interaction, or at least not put too much into it because he was afraid of letting anyone get too close but that was no excuse to ignore anyone or just forget their names. That would just be rude and Nathaniel was a polite young man, despite his history and family.
Nathaniel looked up at the lake for a moment when the girl asked what he was there for. He knew he had to give her an answer. Avoiding it would just make him look more suspicious than if he were to just give her the basics of it and leave it at that. Still, the blue of the lake was strangely calming and so Nathaniel felt fine with giving her an answer.
"Er.. I've got this um.. phobia. I guess it was a big problem at my old school," he admitted, looking down at his hands, fidgeting slightly with the edge of his shirt. There was more to it than a fear of being physical contact. There were reasons behind it, ones that went much deeper than what most might see but Nathaniel never talked about it and thus was never helped with it. If he tried he might have figured it out but that was hard to do when he spent most of his time ignoring it and being focused on trying to keep away from others.
The girl seemed nice enough. She laughed and smiled and spoke to him like anyone else would so things so far were going better than it otherwise could have. Which meant that Nathaniel felt a little more comfortable with it, still he wouldn't like any unexpected contact.

She smiled when he said that he had a phobia. That was great. She would definitely have to go back to her room and check out what it was caused by and everything. She loved knowing information on people, and since she didn’t even know him, it was something. She wanted to know everything right now, but she didn’t have her laptop and she couldn’t hack over the internet on her phone. Things just didn’t work that way.
She watched as he fidgeted with the end of his shirt, obviously she was setting off his phobia slightly now. So what was it? People, Girls, or maybe Guys? Either way she wanted to find out. She smirked. ”Sorry if I’m doing anything wrong, or if I say anything wrong,” she said softly before looking back up at his face and not at his fidgeting hands. ”But I like information, I was just wondering if I’m setting off your phobia at all, if I am I can just leave” she said pushing off the rock and making like she would actually leave.
Yes, spending time in a forensic ward had taught her how to seem normal. Was she at all? Of course not. Secretly she wanted to just walk right up to him and not let him leave his rock until she knew why he had his phobia, everything that set it off, what happened. Every little detail.
Her thing was information. She wanted to know everything that she could. Of course she knew the entire CCTV link up, their private password for the system, the dorm room arrangements, the isolation room arrangements, who had been in isolation. Every little thing. She was a book of knowledge, but she didn’t use it for good. When she could she crashed the CCTY system so that Aleksei and herself could get away with more trouble without having to cut the wires themselves. Hell, her and Aleksei recently tore the wires out of two cameras in the common room. Just so that they could torture another girl with phobias.

Nathaniel immediately stooped his fidgeting when she spoke, and looked straight at her, almost surprised that she had said those words. No one here had ever cared enough to apologize or even realize he was uncomfortable around them so it was nice to find someone like that. Still, it was difficult to make friends when they'd have to constantly be aware of the space between them and you.
"No, it's okay," he said, attempting a smile. She was nice, really nice or at least a lot nicer than some of the people he had met so far so she stood out that way.. Cameron, nice girl, gotta remember that. He didn't want her to leave.. Usually people just got annoyed at him and left on their own but she seemed nice and as far as Nathaniel was concerned, if anyone was going to be okay with it at Hawthorne, it'd probably be her.
"It's just.. I'm er.. afraid of people touching me," he said, telling her the last bit quietly and looking away because he was embarrassed by it. It sucked to have to tell people that you were afraid of them touching you.. Most just stared at him like he was crazy, laughed cause they thought he was kidding or just simply thought it was so ridiculously stupid to be afraid of something so normal and common. It wasn't fun though, having that condition. He wanted to be close to people, he wanted to have a normal life but then his mind had decided that he didn't deserve that.
She seemed nice though so Nathaniel could only hope that she wouldn't judge him or use it against him like that other guy... That Alek that seemed to find it fun to laugh at him and make fun of him. It was horrible enough to have to deal with the phobia but to have people make it worse? That just wasn't fair.

When he stated that it was okay, she returned to leaning against the rock. She knew that she’d still go back to her dorm and look up everything on this kid as soon as she could. He really interested her now that she knew he was here for phobias. They were the best kids to torture. Although usually you had to get close to them first. Or if she was like Aleksei she would just push it.
When he said that he was afraid of people touching him she looked over at him. He had looked away, almost like he was embarrassed. It was a legitimate reason, in her opinion. She didn’t really like people touching her either, and tended to punch the person who had. Why, because she didn’t like other people.
”Hey! I don’t like people touching me either, but I don’t think I’m as bad as you, only slightly violent” she said smiling. She wasn’t sure why it was so easy to talk to him, so easy to fake being nice, being normal. But sadly she knew that it would end soon.

Nathaniel attempted a smile but stopped before it got there. "It's not really the same," he added quietly. Not liking people or not wanting strangers to touch you was one thing but wanting to run away when they tried to was something else entirely. Nathaniel's fear wasn't quite that bad. Right now he was talking to her and he felt fine but he did get uncomfortable around people sometime.
"So.. Um.. What's it been like here.. for you?" he asked, just making conversation. He wasn't going to say much about himself unless questions were asked or he felt the need to but that didn't mean he couldn't just listen and let her do the talking.
At least this way he could hear about the good and the bad of this place, or at least he would if she decided to go into detail about her time here. Who knows, maybe he might learn about who he should avoid and who was cool to be around. It would be excellent to know these things, even if it was only to aid in his own survival. It was a pretty dangerous place after all.

She nodded when he said that it wasn’t the same. She knew that, but still, it was her trying to relate to him. She didn’t want anyone touching her, and got rather violent. Although like everything else, Aleksei was a big, big exception. They were major exceptions for the other. Needless to say they could do a lot of things that they wouldn’t let anyone else do. And that was saying something.
”Ehhh its been ok. I only recently got here, and I had to spend more time in intake for jetlag because that was horrible.” she said with a sigh. So far she hadn’t met many people here, but she knew one here before she was even sent here.
”But its been good, I mean I knew someone here before I even got here, so it kind of made the transition better” she said smiling. It was nice to know someone here as well as she did Aleksei. It made it easier to torture the unsuspecting people, and made it better to deal with the problems of having to cope with assholes.

Nathaniel just nodded and quietly listened as she spoked. She seemed friendly enough and she hadn't tried to touch him or anything so that was a big plus point. So far she was doing well or at least as good as he could expect from a place like Hawthorne. He had heard about it and it sounded pretty dangerous, not in the 'deaths occur all the time' sort of way but it didn't sound like a very safe place to be.
"I guess that would help," he said, staring out at the lake, just watching the water was calming and therapeutic and Nathaniel was glad it was here. At leas the place had something nice to look at, one couldn't complain about that. So yeah, it was scary and all but it was pretty too so that sort of made up for it just a bit.
"I think I actually prefer not knowing anyone, I don't really need people to talk to or anything so it's not so bad," he told her, though it wasn't completely true. No one would want to be alone every hour of the day but Nathaniel would tolerate it more than most.
Nathaniel sighed as he studied the water some more. For a moment he wished he could go far, far away. Away from everything and everyone to a place where he wouldn't have to worry about anything.. That'd be nice.

Cameron nodded as he said that it would help. Of course it would. Having Aleksei here was fun, they were almost back up to their old trick that they were at Bluebird. They hadn’t actually made anyone kick off yet, but that would come in due time. Cameron just had to stay out of isolation long enough to be able to cause havoc.
”Not knowing anyone here though kind of sucks” she said looking over at him. Sure it could be good for a short time, but eventually you had to talk to people. Knowing them just made it easier to get things. Hell, if she needed any fags she would be able to go talk to one of the three people that she knew that had the good stuff, and not the regular shit that she could get.
Although that was a sociopaths point of view. Using others for her gain. That was what interested her. ”So have you met anyone here?” she asked kicking a rock towards the water and looking down. She wasn’t sure why Nathaniel would want to isolate himself, it wasn’t a good thing. But in some cases it could be better, like isolating Cameron away from Cara. That would be a good idea.

"Maybe for someone else but for me it works better this way," he told her. It meant that he wouldn't have to get to close to anyone new and have to explain everything all over again. He had had enough of those weird looks he got from people when he tried to tell them why he was acting so weird.
"A few, yeah. Some of them were really nice, some not so much," he told he with a shrug, blue eyes facing forward because he trusted her enough by now. He knew she wasn't going to do anything crazy like attack him or something so it was fine. Cameron seemed like a nice girl and definitely not the type to do something cruel like that.
"Gaby's been really nice," he told her. "And my room mate's cool too.. And Clyde and a couple of other people," he explained, thinking that she'd probably know some of the names if she'd been here awhile. "Then there's Leo and Marilyn. He's kinda weird with those animal names and that Marilyn chick, she seems kinda bitchy.. I dunno, I don't like to judge but I've seen her twice now and both times she was throwing insults at people," he explained. He didn't really want to say anything mean but it was kind of hard not to sometimes.. Still, he carefully managed to avoid mentioning Alek because he'd rather not think about it.
