history:
adelise laurence's family was rough to say the least. with a hair stylist and makeup artist for a mother, and a clothing designer for a father... their children were made to be in the fashion world. she never was like them though, never obsessed with vogue or any of those fashion magazines, hell the only magazine she was remotely interested was nylon and alternative press. her family wanted perfection, and two out of the three children lived up to that. adrian was the up and coming male model, and nadine was following her father's footsteps in fashion. adelise though, never got very into it. trading jimmy choos for an old acoustic at a pawn shop got her father quite in a rage. the family had rued their youngest offspring.
once she turned fourteen, she made amends with her family-- or at least told them she wanted to go into the fashion career in hopes for them not to hate her so much. they worked her to exhaustion, making her try to seem as much of a porcelain doll as possible, and yes-- that's every beauty queen's dream.. but she was allowed no expression, and forced to attend parties with her family in order to meet the "creme de la creme" of the fashion world. the only way adelise managed to stay sane was drugs, particularly adderall when she needed energy, and vicodin and valium when she needed to pass out.
her drug use got to such a point that during the middle of a photoshoot for an ad that was to be put in elle, she passed out on the floor of the empire state building where it was being shot. her parents kept the whole ordeal hush-hush with their money, and ended up sending her here. they made up a story about their daughter working on her own clothing line with her aunt back in france, but.. what the public doesn't know won't hurt them right? and as far as adelise goes? she's just glad to be away from her family.
