rachel wasn't sure where she was going, she hated starting new at places, but she understood you had to start somewhere. it was just odd how the school was oriented, she hadn't been to a school since college. she pretty much worked only as an experimentalist in a chemistry lab after school. so she already knew getting lost would happen before she even took the job. of course she was only here for her little brother, she needed to help him get better, and persuade her father to let her take him for the last few years he'd be a minor. she didn't want him back to a house where everyone practically hates him, it was a sad realization. one she ran away from the moment she could, now she felt like it was her duty to make it all right again.
now back to her being lost, which she completely was, as she walked back and forth trying to find her way to where she thought her room was, though somehow she ended up outside. groaning, she walked back indoors, and followed the same path she came from. why did she have to go eat something? she could of dealt with being hungry, maybe persuade adrian to bring her up something. but no, she felt she needed to learn the school, and yeah she did. but that could of waited, she wanted to finish setting up for her first class the next day. she was excited as can be, but how could she make anything work when she couldn't even find her classroom to begin with.
finally finding her way back to the kitchen she went inside and leaned against the counter. her hair, which was once in a lovely ponytail all neat and tidy, was now a mess, strands falling in her face. her luscious pink lips sat in a pout as she stared at the ground for a few minutes before finally looking up deciding to try again. grabbing a water bottle this time, she headed out the door. though as she opened it, her mind preoccupied she didn't realize someone there and next thing she knew she was on the floor soak and wet. her bottle had burst upon landing, and already upset about being lost, tears began to fall down her cheek. feeling stupid she stood up, wiped at her eyes, and tried to not look like the bumbling idiot she was. "i..i'm sorry," she said softly, trying to build up her usual composure.

"I feel like I'm going to die if I have to grade one more of these freaking things." Ben muttered under his breath, a four page test in his hands from one of his students. He'd been grading the tests for the last two hours and hadn't even gotten through half of the stack on his desk. There were just way too many students he taught, and unfortunately for him pretty much all of them had showed up on the day of the test and taken it, he only had three that had yet to make it up. He hated giving tests, he had always hated getting them as a student, and he hated having to grade them. Wasn't he supposed to have a teaching assistant for this type of thing? Oh yeah.. that's right, his TA had been out "sick" for the last three days. Yeah, sure, he totally believed that she was actually sick and didn't know at all that he would have had her grade all those papers for him. He let out a small sigh as he stared at the red pen in front of him on his desk, and then the paper in his hands. "Yeah, no."
He dropped the paper on to his desk and stood up, his stomach groaning loudly as he stood. He looked down, frowning for a second, then stretched, yawned, and headed for the door of his classroom. He straightened his black v-neck vest over his white long sleeved button up shirt, rolling up the sleeves on both arms to his forearms. He removed his key from the front pocket of his black dress pants and slid out the door, locking it behind him. Didn't need anyone stealing anything while he was out, that would have definitely ruined his day.
Ben quickly turned in the direction of the kitchen, placing the key back in his pocket and removing his cell phone from his back pocket. He ran through the text messages he'd received, beginning to reply to them as he made his got closer to the kitchen. Too bad he never listened when people told him not to walk and text, it was definitely good advice. Before he had time to react in anyway, his phone was on the floor and so was a girl, soaking wet and crying. Great, what a huge jerk he was.
A look of pity crossed Ben's face as he reached out his hand to help her up, only to find she was already getting up on her own, and obviously trying to hide the fact that she had just been crying. He made her cry and she was apologizing to him for it? Okay, now he felt like the biggest jerk on the planet. "No, no, I'm sorry, that was totally my fault, I should have been watching where I was going. Are you alright? Did I hurt you?"
