marilyn breathed in the blooming spring air, squeezing her sweatshirt closer to her skin as tight as she could get it to avoid the early spring cold. a light breeze ruffled the new sprouted leaves, causing a whirlwind of sound and freezing air, circulating all around her. in her hand, two joints lay, filled with delicious marijuana - mari's drug of choice. nothing was sweeter than the mary jane. even her name, marilyn jane mahdavi, was translated into mari jane - and that was no accident. it's what she got for drug addicted parents. mainly they did blow, H, ecstasy... but everyone knew to tribute the weed. a stoner's pledge. she continued on her way, her mind setting to a more specific, meaningful thought. she was on her way to the courtyards, where she promised to meet her ex girlfriend, elana. elana! she hadn't spoken the name in so long, but before they were reunited at hawthorne, she thought about her all the time. they had met in foster as young kids, after child services both took them away from their abusive parents. they had connected the very moment they met - they were so alike in many ways. they had started dating in foster care, they were as close as they could be... until mari's grandmother came into the picture. she was taken out of foster care, and though elana and her tried to stay close, it was obvious where mari was heading. she was sent to hawthorne in a snap and had no way of reaching elana. but she was here! she had gotten sent to hawthorne, substance disorders, just like herself. lately marilyn had been a giddy mess - hanging on to her sharp touch but effected by all the good things happening in her life. the best friends anyone could wish for. leadership over the school. and elana back in her life. but there was always some sort of conflict... mari thought of jeff. sweet jeff, whom she had been kissing only days ago... it was weird how life changed in an instant. she cared about jeff so deeply... yet she had been through so much with elana. the only person who really understood her. she loved elana, to be honest. her mood turned foul as she contemplated the two people she cared such a great deal for. she arrived at the courtyards, looking around for elana, seeing no one in sight. she stood in the shadows next to the lamppost, it's bright spotlight eyes catching everything that moved into the light. she couldn't risk being caught by a guard, so she hung back on the short stretch of grass, sitting down and feeling the cool, lightly-dewed grass between her fingers, waiting for elana, coddling the two joints in her other hand. words , four hundred and sixty six. outfit , click.tagged, gabby with elana notes , (:

elana had been sitting in her room, which she shared with marilyn, though the girl hadn't been in here in awhile. though elana knew nothing about why her darling roommate was gone, she just hacked it up as marilyn being well, marilyn. so she had sat on the chat for a little bit, finally signing off when it seemed like it was just going to be boring mundane conversations. looking for something more interesting she pushed the button on her radio, blaring katy perry and started to dance around the room, and singing. she wasn't bad, though she'd never think of doing it for real, or well out of just being in the shower or alone. finally growing exhausted she flung herself on her bed, burying her head deep in the pillows. glancing at her clock, she knew she had about an hour or two to sleep before she had to meet marilyn. so that was what she did, drifted to sleep.
waking with a startle, she rolled over but kept her eyes closed. needing a smoke she went digging through her dresser, wishing she had something different then a cigarette, and that was when she remembered her 'date' with marilyn. of course she wasn't sure what to call it, a date or something else, but looking at the time she noticed she was late. raking her brain for where she was supposed to meet her greatest friend, she slipped on shoes grabbed the smokes, her biker jacket and practically ran out of the door. as she excited the dorms, she remembered it was the court yard, so she turned towards it. she tightened the jacket as she realized how cold it was, and was pissed at herself for wearing shorts.
though as she neared the courtyard, she remembered all the fun times she had with marilyn. she was always like marilyn's sexy sidekick, the nicer and sweeter side of a dynamic duo that ruled everything. they had known each other forever, and well she had missed marilyn when she had left. not knowing where she went was hard on elana, and finally finding her again? oh god it was the best thing ever, and she had been hoping that just maybe they could continue from the spot they left off. but it seemed that marilyn had started things with other people, and that alone confused the girl, and kind of pissed her off. though pissing elana off isn't impossible, it's a pretty hard thing to do.
though as she looked around the courtyard she lit a cigarette and took a small drag, trying to warm herself up. god she wasn't a smart person at all, then again, elana could do some of the dumbest things. it was one of her tiny flaws, she usually acted before thinking about the consequences. though noticing marilyn sitting on the ground, already she was perked up. who cares about being cold, she had pot now, and the best person in the world. she practically ran the rest of the distance to come to stand in front of mari, she finished her smoke, flung it to the ground, stomped on it for a minute before tossing her happy butt next to her. "Hey," she said with a smile,"God it's been too long."

mari saw the glowing end of elana's cigarette before she saw her ex girlfriend fully. she was approaching fast, and a huge grin came to her face. as elana's figure came more pronounced with the glowing street light around her, marilyn saw that she hadn't changed much, except for maybe slightly shorter hair. all her feelings for the girl came rushing back as she saw down next to her. without saying a word, she wrapped her arms around her, something that was very unusual for mari. "i missed you so much!" she said, leaning back and grinning, showing elana the two joints that were nestled in the palm of her hand. she looked around quickly for a security guard, and then focused back onto elana. "got a lighter?" she asked, smiling. lately mari had been feeling extra... positive. of course, she kept her sting to those she hated, but her life was filled with optimism in the past few weeks. usually that much positivity would be her gag, but she was liking the nice feeling of it all - she was coming into real good luck. having elana back was the perfect cherry on top of an immaculate sundae, so delicious and intriguing she could not resist. temptation was around her everywhere. and with all the goodness came the new kids, who she could torment freely. giving her the flesh cutting teeth every shark had. powerful, that's how mari felt. on top of everything. she lit the joint and took a long drag off it, feeling it circle in her throat like ghosts heading down her pipes and into her lungs. she sometimes wondered what kind of condition her lungs were in, seeing as she smoked pretty much 24/7. probably not so good, but marilyn wasn't doing any physical labor anytime soon. and when she got discharged from hawthorne (would she ever?) she'd return to her rich grandmother in the city and still wouldn't have to worry. she'd just have to keep her drug life concealed, no problem. she passed the joint to elana, making sure it was well lit so they wouldn't have to utilize the lighter too much. she smiled at her, holding the smoke for as long as she could until her lungs erupted and the smoke poured out of her mouth, a whisper of the ghosts inside. she coughed heavily, trying her best to muffle the sound in her sleeve. such a big hit of such potent weed already made that signature warm, high feeling that she loved so much. nothing like the mary jane. nature's most delicious plant. words , four hundred and thirty nine outfit , clicktagged , gabby with elana

elana was partially still tired as she kept a yawn from escaping her lips, and kept her bright happy smile on her face. nothing was going to ruin her time with marilyn, especially not her own tired state of mind. slightly dazed, and even more confused, she wrapped her arms around marilyn, basking in the moment. she knew that there wasn't going to be many of these in her near future, and she planned on getting all the touch feely she can get. "i missed you, too." she let her eyes fall to mari's palm as she leaned back and pulled her lighter out of her jacket pocket, "i don't leave without one."
elana wasn't so sure about being in this place, or even about anything really. she had been devastated when marilyn disappeared, and all that caused the usually bright and bubbly girl to be, well more depressed. which then in result caused her to do more of the drugs that were apparently bad. then again, that resulted in her being here, with marilyn, so there was no bad in that at all. feeling a little more cheery she leaned up, pursing her lips and taking in the girl next to her. she couldn't believe her luck, she was sitting by one of the most beautiful girls in the world, who just happened to look even better with the way the way the light was shining on her.
laying all the way back, she watched as marilyn took a drag, feeling a soft jealousy bubble up. she wanted to feel the smoke rolling around in her mouth, feel the resulting calm that always came afterward. taking the joint from marilyn's fingers she took a nice long drag, letting the smoke travel through her body. closing her eyes, she let it everything leave her mind, all but the feeling that was slowly rising as she finally let the smoke out from her lungs. feeling a little better already she passed the joint back to marilyn, before rolling on her side so she could look up at the beautiful girl. already feeling remotely calmer, she propped herself up and gave a soft sigh. she usually wasn't the type to talk about her own feelings, unless she was calm enough to do so. all of that came with the sense of amazing relaxation she got from any drug, but mostly from the nice soft smoke of mari jane. and not just the drug, but the smokey aura of marilyn jane mahdavi herself, the one person she always felt relaxed around, and usually was completely herself with. "mari, i swear, this has been my greatest day since you left."
