Rileys' heart raced with each step she took. She was never a fan of heights, but she wanted to see the sunset. It was her favorite thing to see, and she often sat out on her brother porch, wrapped in a blanket, and roasting marshmallows. She missed her brothers beach house. That he so awesomely made into a part time sandwich shop, For hungry beach babes. She missed going to school in the city, and causing terror with her friends. She missed bulling newbies at the skate-park. She wanted to be home, skating it out, and just living.
Riley didn't belong here. She may be a little bipolar, but not enough to be here. Her brother sent her here cause he found her. She hated him with every bone in her body, and feared him as if he were the plague. She hadn't even said goodbye to Chase. Her brother wanted her safe, so he shipped her off to the farthest place he could afford. Hawthorn. It wasn't that awful. It just wasn't home.
Her father had found her, he wanted to" make amends" her brother had told her. Naturally she acted as if she didn't care, but deep down her feelings were twisted with fear and hatred.
Her fingers traced the pack in her hand. Chase had made her quit, but she started up again as soon as her dad arrived. Of course no one knew he was back, and thankfully she was away now. She took one of the thin sticks out, and lit it. The smell hit her hard, and a smile spread across her lips. She inhaled it gladly, and blew out a few rings. She felt guilty for doing this, but Chase wasn't here now. He wouldn't scold her, or tell her what to do. She took another drag, the burning sensation crawling down her throat.
Her eyes watched the sun as it fell, a mixture of colors filling the sky. She thought of her brother, doing the same thing. Her feet dangled from the side of the ledge. A shiver ran down her spine as her eyes settled on the ground bellow her. She imagined falling. How it would be. The hair rushing against your skin, that was a good sensation. Then the big pang, of all your bones crushing, causing an almost instant death. ( it really depended.) No, she wasn't suicidal, and no she would not jump. She just liked thinking of these things.
She took another drag, a smaller one, since her stick was half gone. She sat there and waited. Waiting for something to happen.

Its a bit rambly, and yeah, but here you go. Oh and i though it would be more interesting if it was before she knew Chase was here..

Chase hadn't been positive, or if Riley's brother had even told him the truth when he asked where his best friend was. Maybe trying to throw him off, then again her brother really had no reason to lie so she was probably here, not that he ran into her yet or anything. Then again, he just got here, what did he expect. It was a school, there had to be as many people as any other school, and he sure didn't know everyone back at his old school. So finding Rye would take a lot longer then he expected. He had been relaxing in his room, thinking about why he had to give his parents his clients, but it was the only way to get her, the only way they'd let him leave. That's what he got for practically making all the money in the house. Oh well, now they can deal with the shit and the teenagers and the crappy customers, not him.
No his goal was to relax for once, find his best friend, and some how get her to fall in love with him. How he'd do all of that was not part of his thought process, just thought it'd be a good idea to do so. Finally figuring he wasn't going to be able to fall asleep, he stood up out of his bed and rummaged through his stuff, looking for something to wear. Throwing on the first two things he found, he slid on his shoes and sneaked out the door of his room. He had semi-met his roommate and he wasn't bad. Though having the guys boyfriend there was a bit iffy, but there was an extra bed, and no one was using it. So the sleeping arrangements weren't weird or anything.
Though that was enough thinking of his roommates, he told himself, trying to find a place to go. Remembering about a door he saw on his way to his room that said roof entrance he headed towards where that was located. Opening the door quietly, and silently shutting it, he climbed the stairs until he came to the top. Though the reasons behind this was useless, he would never run into Rye here, she was afraid of heights, but he hoped desperatly, in the few weeks she was gone, well that she overcame it. Walking through the door to the actual roof, he noticed a shadow and walked closer to it, finally making out a familiar girl. Rye. Now this was a great surprise.
"Rye!" He sat next to her, finally letting his eyes land on the ciggeratte in her hand he frowned, "Hey. I thought you quit." Yeah, he was a drug dealer, yeah he did drugs, but for some reasons, smoking seemed like something stupid. Who wanted to have there lungs look like that? Who wanted all of that to happen, sure the hell not him. And he wouldn't let Rye turn out to be like that either. The pain would be horrible, and putting his best friend though that would of been an idiotic thing to do.

Riley's thoughts circled around falling, and just to her luck a familiar voice shouted her name. She jumped, causing her to rock forward. She couldn't help but let out a loud squeak before gaining her balance again. She tuned around and jumped fully back on the roof. She turned to face her dear friend Chase, but the nice hello she would have given him was out the door the second he said her name. Her heart was still racing. "Don't do that!" She yelled at him before slapping him in the arm. "You know i hate it when people sneak up on me!" Her face twisted when he mentioned her smoking. "I started up again, before i was sent here." She took one last drag before extinguishing it. she didn't want to waist it, but if it would make Chase happy, she would do it.
She sighed and gave him a smile. "Ah, i can't stay mad at you!" She puled him down and gave him a hug. Kissing his cheek she looked at him. "Why are you here anyways? Cops catch you dealing?" She smirked. She never approved of drugs or alcohol, but she wouldn't tell him what to do. If it made him happy, then fine..he could do it. As long as he didn't get caught up in a gang or anything.
She gave him another hug before leaning against the side of the roof. She took out another cigarette forgetting about the last one she threw out, and the fact that he didn't want her smoking. She lit it up and took a slow drag. She sighed an looked at Chase. "Cant i have one? I think i deserve it." She gave him an innocent smile batting her eyelashes. "Please let me off the hook?" She tilted her head, before giggling lightly. She really did feel she deserved it. Smoking revealed her stress, and ever since her dad she had been stressed. She shook her head and looked at the boy again. Her eyes trailing from head to toe. "Ah man, i missed you so damn much."
