May liked the feeling of his arm around her. It made her feel worth something and after her dad died, May hadn't had a lot of this feeling. Her mother was cruel, and her new boyfriend hadn't been anydifferent. When she had been sent her, it was the best thing to happen to her because she wouldn't have to see either of them ever again. Sometimes, May didn't want to get better because if she did she might have to go home and that was the last thing she wanted to do. So the fact that Merrick made her feel like a person, and not an object was important to her. She didn't feel pressured around him or uncomfortable. she was happy when he was around, and tonight was only making that feeling more prominent.

"Oh yeah?" She teased in a gentle tone, a small smile on her lips. Alright, so maybe she wasn't as bad as she thought she was, but there was no way she was getting down on the ground like the girl had been when they walked in. May's body just didn't move and bend like that. She was white, and thin and inflexible. But still, the way he was whispering in her ear was making her think of that shower they had taken and she grinned.

Merrick was certainly a character she liked having around and now he was officially hers.

"Yeah, definitely," he told her, this time with a smirk, leaning down a little further and nibbling her ear lobe just a little. He wasn't trying to do anything, he was just doing that cause he could.

Merrick had another quick look around. The room was filling up a little more now and it was getting much busier. There were people at the table getting punch, a bunch were dancing in the middle while the rest were just milling around or talking to each other. It was a pretty calm and peaceful place so far so he turned his attention back to May, his May.

"May," he began, "What are you doing for Spring Break?" he asked [[I'm assuming since it's a school they go home for the holidays or something lol]], getting ready to put his real question forward. "Cause I was thinking you could maybe come stay with me or something. Or we could go some where, anywhere really," he told her. He could had a number of places he could go and his dad wouldn't mind at all.

The fact that he as here, probably because his step-mother just didn't want him around, meant that his dad had a lot to make up for so during breaks and when he was back, Rick got away with a lot more than he usually did anyway.

She laughed lightly at his comment and then felt his lips on her earlobe. That was a new feeling and she jumped a little bit in surprise but didn't pull away from him. It was new, but it was good new. May liked it and bit her lip gently as she intertwined her fingers with his and let her head fall back against his chest for a moment. He pulled his face up and she pouted a little bit, looking up and back at him to see what he was doing.

She saw that he was looking around, and dis tangled herself from him so that she could turn around to face him. He seemed distracted and she wondered why that was. Just as she was about to ask him if he was alright, he said her name and she raised her eyebrow at him...

Did he just ask her about spring break? May brought her eyebrows together for a moment and opened her mouth to tell him that she had no idea when he started to talk about and she let her lips close. She was way beyond confused as to why he was suddenly talking about something like spring break but her eyes widened at his next words.

He wanted to spend spring break with her? She looked up at him for a moment and then cleared her throat for a moment, trying to think. To spend spring break at Merricks.. that was certainly a thought that she hadn't even considered. But then at the same time, May hadn't thought at all about spring break. She had no money to go anywhere, and just figured she would stay at Hawthorne over that break because there was no way in hell that she was going to go home for it.

Or anywhere? Anywhere like where? Maybe looked up at him, and she was sure that her face showed the surprise she felt from his question. "I would love to go somewhere, but I have no money for it" She muttered, with a short shrugg.

Most people here would be embarrassed to admit something like that to someone, but May wasn't. It wasn't her fault, it was her mothers fault and May wouldn't feel embarrassed for something she had no control over.

"And I don't know if you bringing someone home for break, from a school for kids with issues, is a good way to show your father that your getting better Merrick..." May didn't know all that much about Merrick and his family life. She knew that his father took good care of him, but that was about it. She had no idea how he felt about this school, or what their financial standing was.

"I wouldn't want to impose on your family time together" But honestly, May would love to go somewhere with him. To go anywhere at all would be fantastic, and him being there with her would be even better. She smiled lightly at him, before taking his hands in hers and with their palms facing, intertwined her fingers with his.

Merrick kept her hands in his, hers were so small with slender fingers. All of her just seemed to have the appearance of being dainty and almost fragile but he liked her the way she was. He let her move and turn around when he glance around the room before asking her his question. It had been on his mind for a couple of days now.

A lot of things were on his mind. Merrick was just anxious to get home but he didn't want to go without her. She was too much fun to be around and usually he would think of all the things he wanted to do when he got back and all the places he wanted to go to but lately when he thought about that, he'd picture her being there too, it would just make it a lot more fun.

He watched her as she seemed to think for a while before speaking. It was just an offer, one he'd like for her to accept but she really wasn't obligated to say yes or anything. It was only a week and it wouldn't be the end of the world if he didn't see her during that time.

Merrick just smiled at her when she said that she didn't have the money for it. "May, my dad owns a bunch of casinos and hotels in Las Vegas, as long as you're with me, you won't even have to think about that," he told her, pulling her a little closer. He forget she really had no idea how much he was worth but it wasn't something that Merrick ever really thought about, let along talked about.

"He won't mind, he'll think you're great.. Just like i do," he told her, he didn't think his dad would have a problem with it. may was just so nice and easy to talk to, at least to him so he figured his dad would be alright too, though judging by the fact that the man always seemed to be busy with something, it wasn't likely that she'd meet him this time anyway, unless they specifically organized it.

"I probably wouldn't even see him anyway so it's hardly family time," he told her, with a smile. "We don't even have to go there. We can just hang out in my boat for a week or I could take you to.. I dunno, the Bahamas, Paris, Spain, Antigua, anywhere. Where ever you wanna go, May. Just name a place and we'll go there," he told her. He sounded completely genuine with his offer like it was easy for him to just decide to go somewhere and then do it but it really was.

He'd take her anywhere, he'd give her anything because Rick was just happy to be with the girl. She made him happy and that wasn't easy to find so he wanted to make sure he could keep her happy too.

This whole night was becoming so bizarre to her. Not only had he just asked her to be his girlfriend but now he wanted to go away with her? She wasn’t at all complaining about it, but how did she answer him? May would love to just get away and go somewhere for a week but she didn’t know if she knew him well enough to say yes. But if she said no, he might not ask her again. She bit her lip for a moment as he took her hands better into his and she grinned at the feeling of the touch. He was so sweet, and May couldn’t imagine going a week without seeing him.

He started to talk again and she looked up from their hands to his face. His dad owned multiple casinos? May knew that his dad owned one, but more than one.. that was just an insane thought. He kept going on, and she laughed when he said his dad would love her. Well, that was certainly a nice thought but she still wasn’t sure. Usually, when kids went home for spring break, their parents wanted to spend time with just them and May wasn’t sure she would be welcomed into that. His next words shocked her and she shook her head.

He mentioned span and her eyebrows rose lightly at the thought. May hadn’t ever been anywhere like that and the thought of being there with Merrick made her smile. But she couldn’t let him just..pay everything for her. It was so expensive and rather or not he had the money to toss away wasn’t really the point. May was simple, she didn’t need big things to keep her happy and she laughed at him. He was certainly intense, but May didn’t mind. It was refreshing.

“Alright Merrick” She said after a moment and removed her hands from his and wound her arms around his neck again. “I’ll go with you, but I’m not picking… Just, surprise me or something” She said with a grin before pushing her lips to his. Why shouldn’t she go? May could use a get a way and if Merrick wanted to take her she would let him. But, he had to pick it because May wasn’t okay with him going on her vacation. If he was going to pay, then he had to pick otherwise she wasn’t going.

“It doesn’t matter to me.. I would be fine just staying here with you if that’s what you wanted to do.”

Merrick wondered for a second if it was a bit too much to have asked her all that but then he quickly came to the conclusion that it didn't really matter because it was already out there and it was too late to take it back, not that he wanted to. He wanted to take her places, show her things, all of that

Merrick just smiled when she said alright. It was a lot but take in but he understood that. "I can do that," he said, pulling her in close again. He could definitely handle picking a place to go and all. That's the easy part.

"Yyeah, much as I like this place, I don't want to stay here any longer than I absolutely have to," he told her. He didn't really like the place. It wasn't what anyone would like. It was school and it was filled with all kinds of people with problems.

"Yeah, I'd be happy pretty much anywhere too if you were there," he told her. She was fun to be around.

May felt Merrick pull her close, and she let him enjoying the time they were spending together and as much as she liked the thought of going away with him, she was wondering why he kept bringing up such serious conversation when tonight was suppose to be more carefree and just about them spending time together. She laughed though, at the thought of going away with him and shook her head. “Merrick..you sure are something different” She muttered to him for a moment as she hugged her arms around his neck.

The song changed again, and it was slower then it had been before. Now that the place was starting to pick up she figured the Dj had decided to play something more for the couples and less for the point of getting people onto the floor. May wasn’t’ to worried about her dancing now though, and gently swayed back and forth to the music as she let her cheek rest on his chest. She was still buzzing with excitement due to the fact that were officially dating now and the conversation they had had only made her more happy to be with him.

It was crazy, but she liked it.

“I’m fun?” She asked, half jokingly. “I’m sure you have more reasons than that for asking me…” She muttered, only trying to make more conversation.

"Nah I'm just me," Rick told her with a mild. He could go off on his own tangents but it wasn't anything to extreme or crazy. He was used to getting what he wanted but he didn't try to show off or anything.

"Well yeah, of course," he told her with feigned confidence. Apparently being fun wasn't enough of a reason. "You're kinda hot too, so there's that," he joked. "And who else am I gonna get to eat nachos with and talk about stuff with," he said with a smile.

The music was slowing down now and it was easier to move to it. Sliding an arm around her wait, he took her hand in his. It was easier to dance like this and he was sure she wouldn't mind anyway.

She simply raised an eyebrow at him with his compliments and shook her head when he was finished. Their conversation was care free, and light. May couldn't help but smile up at him, and just then her stomach growled and she looked down at herself for a moment before she started laughing..

"I haven't eaten yet..." She told him rather calmly. She wasn't embarrassed, why should she be? So she was hungry, it was a natural thing to feel and she shrugged. "Lets go get some food from over there" She said with a slight grin as she untangled her arms from his neck.

Before she started to walk towards the food, she took his hand with a slight smile up at him. She wasn't sure what food they had over there, but seriously she would probably eat anything with the way her stomach was protesting. May had no idea how people could go without eating. The girls with eating disorders? May could never do that. She loved food, and was pretty sure that food loved her.

"Where are those nachos when you need them?" She asked jokingly as she found the table and looked around for a second. She decided that one of the pre-made sub looking things would be good so she took a piece for herself and a piece for Merrick.

"What, why not?" Merrick said, not really thinking the question through. He couldn't understand how people could skip meals like that or simply forget to eat or even put it off till later. He never really missed a meal. Of course, Merrick liked food, and alcohol, and girls.. All the usual stuff. He knew May wasn't like that though, she had nachos with him so it was definitely no eating disorder at least.

"Yeah, sure," he said with a smile, following her to the table with the food. There wasn't really much there. A few bits and pieces, nothing too fancy or filling. "Only one call away," he told her with a grin before she picked up on those mini-subs and handed him one.

"You know," he said, getting another crazy idea in his head. "We could just leave now and go get some real food, if you want to," he suggested. The guy he had on call waiting to make sure life wasn't so miserable for him, was only one phone call away and he had the car so they could sneak out and go anywhere, or even just drive around or something.

He asked her why she hadn't eaten yet and she shrugged. "I don't know, gosh. Just didn't I guess" She laughed a little as she took a bite of her sub looking thing and looked down at it to see what was inside. It wasn't horrible, but certainly could have been better and she raised an eyebrow when he said that the nachos were just a phone call away. Swallowing her bite she shook her head at him.

"This is fine.." She said with a light laugh. Merrick certainly was one for that phone. And though she understood that he was probably raised that way, May was happy just being simple. So the subs weren't the best, but it was a part of the experience and she was sure that it wouldn't cause her any real harm.

He started to talk again as she reached over and took a Gatorade from the tub of drinks before turning back to him with a gentle sigh.

"Hey" She said, opening it up and taking a drink. "I wanna stay here, this is fun. I don't need to go somewhere else" She said in a small tone, taking a look around. He seemed really eager to please her, but May was already pleased. She was having a good time, and she felt good about herself.

"And I've certainly had worse food then this, just..lets dance some more?" she asked with a small grin, pushing some hair from her face.

"Alright," he told her. He was happy to stay at the dance. There was music and a dance floor and it was fun, there really wasn't much to complain about at all.

"Good," he said. May was happy to stay right there and Rick knew that but in his defense, he was used to girls who were high maintenance. Ones who needed to be taken out to places and showered with gifts. For a while he truly thought that was how it worked but May was a nice refreshing change.

The girl didn't seem to need much at all but Rick liked that abut her. Looking at her again he just smiled. finishing the sub, he spoke when she said something about dancing. "Yeah, sure," he told her, looking over at the dance floor before moving toward it.

So after May closed up her Gatorade and put it into her bag, she took his hand and drug him bag to the dancefloor. She really was having a good time and Merrick just made her feel really care free and good about herself. People usually made May feel uncomfortable and nervous, with her disorder but it was different around Merrick. She didn't feel out of place, or awkward about herself and he just made her laugh. She was happy that he had asked her to be his girlfriend, though she was kinda already under the impression that they were together. It didn't matter now though, because now she knew for sure. And they were going on spring break together? This night was certainly full of it's surprises and as they reached the dancefloor May stopped and turned to him with a grinn.

She reached up and put her arms around his neck again before playing with his hair for a moment and smiling at him. "I'm really having a good time, I'm glade you switched our pairings" She said after a moment as she started to move her hips back and forth.

She had to admit that she was getting pretty good at this whole dancing thing.

Merrick gladly followed her to the dance floor. May was just easy to be around. It was easy to be himself and not care about much else at all and she was just so different to the sort of girls he knew. She was easy going, happy to just be the way she is and he didn't too many people who could do that the way she did. She just made everything look a lot better and Merrick couldn't help but want to be around her more.

Getting on the dance floor, Merrick kept his arms around her waist, holding her close as they dances. This was definitely nice and he was glad he had the chance to switch dates. It was pretty lucky to come across a student who had the right connections and was able to get that done. If it didn't happen like that the dance probably wouldn't be as interesting, though Merrick would probably go find May anyway. "Yeah I'm glad I did too," he told her, leaning in the kiss her.

May and Merrick continued to dance and talk for the rest of the dance, but obviously it had to come to an end eventually. When the place started to empty May looked up at Merrick and grinned a little bit. Although the dance was over, that was no reason for them to have to go their separate ways so as they walked out of the dance she stopped for a second to look up at him.

"Do you wanna come back to my room?? Or I can go to yours, I'm just having a good time. I don't wanna say goodnight yet"
