Getting ready for a dance was something Emma never thought she would do. She never had the chance to attend any homecomings or proms and she definitely never went any where that involved getting all dolled up and looking pretty. She had far too many emotions running through her brain, so much that it had her sitting down on her bed and contemplating even going. She was scared to death of all the guys that were going to be there, even more so nervous of the crowds. She was a small girl, some would even stretch to say she was anorexic, but that was just her build. She didn’t want to miss out, but she didn’t want to fall into a massive panic attack and make a fool of herself.
She brushed at the front of her dress nervously. This wasn’t going to be a bad night. She had to continue to think positive. She was going to have fun with Kiana and meet new people and even see James. See, there was a positive side to everything…. Or so she had to continue to remind herself. James even said he would save a dance for her…. She bit down on her bottom lip and sighed. She’d never really danced before, except with her dad when she was much younger, and that was just messing around and having fun. She hadn’t danced with a single person. Emma reached for her heels and slipped them on over her dainty feet. She wasn’t sure what she was going to do, but she’d figure something out.
Emma stood up, smoothed her dress over her stomach and grabbed for her clutch. She had done like Kiana had suggested, her hair down and wavy, the light bouncing off her blonde locks. She preferred her hair this way actually. It was easy and yet elegant at the same time. She didn’t want to be flashy and show off, seeing as she was much more of a background person, but she did however want to look pretty. Dusting her chest with her Forever Sunshine perfume, she headed for the door and down the hall toward Kiana’s dorm room. She found herself feeling like she would be much more comfortable walking with the girl down to the main hall rather than waiting for her in a room filled with people she didn’t know well. Stepping up to the door, she lifted her hand and knocked softly on the door with knuckles.

Kiana had been looking forward to the dance for a while now. Putting her small silver earrings on, she looked herself over in the mirror with a smile. She was just so glad she got this time, knowing someone else could easily had taken over and she would have missed it all together.
She even had her hair down and wavy to match Emma. The dates were random but Kiki didn't mind. She wasn't attracted to girls but this would be fun. She more than happy to go with another girl and to just dance and have fun. Spraying on her perfume, Kiana heard the knock on the door. Moving over she opened it and smiled warmly at the girl who stood on the other side.
"Hey! Oh wow, you look great Emma," she said, happy and excited about this evening. She had wondered who she might be paired with and if it would be awkward at all but this was just so much easier. Being paired with another girl just made it fun. They could go as friends and not have to worry about any weirdness at all.
"Oh, hang on," she said, moving back to her bed, she grabbed her bag and walked out the door. "Ready to go?" she asked, turning back to the girl. This was going to be a great evening, Kiki had already decided this.

James knew better than to be anywhere too early. He waited until he knew that there would be a small crowd at the dance at least. Straightening his jacket as he stepped out the door, James made his way down to where the dance was held. He was suppose to go with that girl, the sex addict, what was her name again? He didn't care. James had left a note for her to meet him at the dance, he wasn't about to go get her from her room and walk down or anything. If she showed up then fine, he would deal with it when the time came but otherwise, he didn't care enough to go out of his way to make sure she would be there. No, James had another girl on his mind. Emma, his Emma. The girl he had already worked hard to keep safe, even from himself, and his past. Eliza had threatened to tell her everything but James managed to stop her. It was close but he had done it and at least it was over now. Getting to the dance, he slipped in unnoticed, moving to the table in the corner of the room to get some punch. He stood there for a moment, pouring himself a drink before taking another look around. He had a quick scan of the room when he entered but Emma was no where to be seen. With his cup in his hand, he slowly made his way to the other side of the room. Standing in the corner, he stayed out of sight, not wanting to run into the wrong people. There was definitely enough of a crowd by now to go unnoticed but James still paid close attention to as much as he could. Turning to the door again, on what was his third sweep of the place, he finally saw Emma with that girl, Kiana. Staying where he was, he didn't want her to see him just yet. He was going to keep an eye on her, let her have fun and enjoy the party for a little while. He made sure to stay away from any of the key spots, just in case they decided to go get some punch or something, he didn't need to be there. He would leave her alone for now and just watch. Emma held her clutch purse in one hand and continued to smooth her dress over her stomach as she waited for Kiana to answer the door. She was still so nervous, her hands visibly shaking from her emotions. She had managed to keep herself some what under control though, just by remembering that not only was she going with a girl as a date, but that James was going to be there... And she trusted him enough to know that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. Or so she had hoped. Hearing the doorknob turn, her head shot up, her soft blue eyes meeting Kiana's dark ones. She couldn't help but smile when she was complemented, her cheeks dusting themselves with a light blush.
"You look gorgeous, Kiana!" Emma stated as she took in the girls appearance. She quite liked that they had matching hair and short dresses. Granted, she was a bit self conscious about showing off her legs, as well as not having anything to cover her shoulders. And what if she tripped in her heels? She swallowed in an attempt to calm herself down before she completely freaked out. Looking back up at Kiana as she was addressed, Emma nodded her head and offered her a small smile. "Yes, of course."
She turned and headed down the hall. It didn't seem to take them all that long to get to the dance itself. In fact, Emma had hoped it would have took longer. She couldn't stop her eyes from bouncing around the crowd and seeing all of the guys. In fact, it made her pause slightly and grab for her necklace with her dainty fingers. Her breathing became shallow as well as forced. She wasn't sure she could do this... What if something went wrong? What if one of these guys... tried to do something? She forced herself to inhale deeply and looking over at Kiana, she felt a bit of relief. Though she didn't know the girl well, she still got the feeling that she didn't take much crap from people. Which was what she needed. Gaining a bit of courage, she dropped her hand from her necklace and smiled. Finally calming down just a bit, she realized what song was playing over the speakers. It was a I'm Your Boogie Man by KC and the Sunshine Band. She had danced around to this song with her parents when she was younger. Turning to Kiana, she grinned, "I love this song.

"Aw thanks!," Kiana told her with a grin. This was going to be a great night. She would be there with a new friend and not have to worry about how things would go. It was just so much easier to have a girls' night than to have to worry about a proper date. Of course, Kiki was also glad that she got to experience it and that one of her personalities hadn't taken over.
Kiki took a look around. The place looked nice, or at least a little nicer than it usually looked. they hadn't put in a whole lot of effort but it all good good anyway. It helped that he hadn't expected too much. Kiana had been in much worse places than this but all of those memories seemed locked away and she didn't act like she had lived the life that she had lived. That was the beauty of her disorder.
Kiki turned when Emma spoke. She grinned at her words. "Aw, great! Let's go dance," she said, reaching out and offering the girl her hand so that they could go up onto the dance floor and just dance and have fun. It was a good song and Kiki just wanted to enjoy the night.

Emma hummed to the song quietly, memories of her dancing around with her parents bubbling to the surface. She didn't mind though, they were good memories, and at a nervous time like this, good memories were what kept her from breaking down. She remembered her dad picking her up and dancing/skipping around with her on his hip and leading the way around with one of her hands. She would get so jumped around, but that was what made it fun. And then her parents would take turns dancing and singing to each other in french... They really were a cute family... When they were alive and well. She smiled softly to herself at the memories.
Frowning, she heard what Kiana had said. She looked over at her, chewing on her bottom lip in thought. "D-dance?" She didn't dance. Or rather didn't know how to dance. Looking down at the out stretched hand, she nodded her head slowly. It would take her mind off things, plus, she was always told that if you can talk, you can sing, and if you can walk, you can dance. It couldn't be too bad, right? "I-I can't really dance, but sure?" She took Kiana's hand and fallowed her out to the dance floor.
She really wasn't sure where to begin when it came to dancing, but she glanced around and watched others. She swung her hips side to side to the beat, fallowing what others were doing. Naturally, she strayed away from the bumping and grinding and instead just allowed her body to move with the song, swaying happily next to Kiana with a large smile upon her lips.

Emma looked a little unsure about her suggestion. It was just a dance, nothing weird or scary about it, but then Kiana had no idea why Emma was even here, maybe it was just something crazy like a fear of dancing? Who knew! Kiki certainly didn't and she didn't think she needed to go asking about it either.
Kiki just laughed a little. "It's okay, I can't really dance either but I don't think it matters," she admitted with a bright smile. It was all just for fun and Kiki didn't mind looking a little silly or anything.
Taking the girl's hand, she moved out into the dance floor, but sort of in the corner, giving them enough space to move about and just have fun. Kiki got into it pretty quickly, just swaying and moving, it was just for fun. She only wished she at least knew the words or something but she hadn't heard too much in the way of music so she really didn't know anything, even the more popular songs.

Thing were starting to get easier, that was for sure. And in fact, she was actually enjoying herself, dancing around and listening to the music. She felt the need to just dance like no one was watching, and she did. It wasn't often that she did something without thinking it over a couple of times, but at the moment, she didn't feel the need to think it over. She was safe so far as she knew. It was just Kiana and herself on the dance floor and enjoying life. She didn't think it was possible, but she couldn't see anything wrong with this situation.
Granted, even the safest situations could go ary, right? Emma turned to see a guy watching them. She had no clue who it was, nor did she want to find out. But it looked as though she was going to anyway because he was headed toward them. Immediately, she froze up, grabbing her necklace and forcing herself to breath. This was not something she wanted to happen. In fact, she was surprised she had even managed to stay standing. She looked down at the floor, avoiding all eye contact, and waited to be addressed. However, it didn't come. To her, at least. She turned to see the guy chatting it up with Kiana and she relaxed. It wasn't always so bad... At least right now.
Emma continued playing with her necklace and glancing down at the ground. Her fingers were shaky, her nerves a bit shot from the random scare that definitely shouldn't have bothered her, but did anyway. Maybe she should have just stayed in her room for the night... The crowds were getting to her far more than she liked.

Kiana was grinning and smiling and dancing and generally having loads of fun. Emma was a little on the quiet side but she seemed like a really sweet girl so Kiana was having a blast. Emma seemed to be look at something and freeze for a moment. Kiki looked a little confused but it made sense when she turned around to see what it was. A guy was approaching them and her eyes widened a little, unsure of what he wanted but he was looking at her. She turned to glance back at Emma one final time, already feeling where this was going thanks to the look on the guy's face but the girl hadn't noticed. Her eyes were fixed on the floor and it was Roxie-Jade who turned back to the guy with a smirk that matched him.
Kiki hadn't recognized him at all but Roxie sure did. Her whole demeanor changed and her hip was out to the side a little as she twirled her hair, laughing and talking to this boy and completely ignoring the girl behind her for a moment.
Reaching out, Roxie-Jade ran her hand over the tie that the guy was wearing and laughed a little. The conversation soon ended when he mentioned her date. At first Roxie was confused but then it made sense. He meant Emma, the girl Kiana was stuck with. Roxie thought she was sweet but way too innocent. Seducing her would take time but this guy was just ready to go now.
Turning back to the girl, Roxie spoke. She didn't even sound like Kiana, her tone was different and even her accent had changed quite a bit. "Hey doll," she said with a hand on the boy's shoulder. "I'm just gonna ditch this place for a lil' while," she told her, "Got a private party to attended," she told her with a smirk and a wink before pulling on the guy's tie and kissing him. "See ya in about 30 minutes?" she said to the girl before laughing when the boy put his hand on her ass. "Make that 40. Bye baby doll," she said to Emma, before walking off with the boy.

James stood fairly still as he watched Emma from a distance. He didn't want to approach her or keep her from having fun so he stayed hidden. He knew that this meant that it would be more difficult for his date to find him but James didn't really care. That girl wasn't important, Emma was. To him, Emma was like the key to a better way of living. With her, he felt he could just live a fairly normal life and avoid being locked up. He would still have his fun, he would find a way but she was still the key or that. With the punch finished, James threw the cup away, moving around the room a little because being perfectly still in a sea of moving people was the quickest way to stand out of the crowd. He walked down to another point in the room but stopped in his tracks when he noticed a guy heading straight for the girls. His eyes narrowed on the stranger and he moved closer to them, as though protecting his territory. He stopped again when the guy seemed to only be interested in Kiana. He watched a while longer until the left. It was a little puzzling but judging by the way she seemed to even move differently and knowing her reason for being here, thanks to Cameron, James assumed there had been some switching going on. Moving up to Emma, he smiled as he approached her, ready to do any damage control that was needed, since he had no idea what the girl might have said to her. He decided he wouldn't leave Emma alone and if she didn't have that girl with her then he would be there at least. "Hey you," he said, "Enjoying the dance so far?" he asked, looking happy to see her. He looked good with how much he had dressed up for the event. He had put it as much effort as most of the guys, even slicking his hair back to make it look neater. The suit and tie look really suited him but it wasn't something he could do every day so dressing up for an event from time to time would have to do. Emma watched in shock as Kiana flirted right back at the guy. She seemed to almost change her complete demeanor. It didn't even actually sound like her any more. Granted, Emma had been listening in to the conversation, and she had known that people changed according to who they are with, she was just going to have to wait and see where it went. Perhaps once the guy left, Kiana would just go back to dancing with her and they'd have a good night. However, that didn't seem to want to happen.
Emma watched as Kiana turned toward her and addressed her as doll. Doll? That didn't sound right at all. She frowned at the next couple of statements, chewing on her lip. "B-but, Kiana?" She spoke softly as she watched the girl leave with the unknown boy. What was she supposed to do now? She was alone in a place where she was extremely uncomfortable. Which was a situation she didn't want to be in. She looked around for a couple of seconds before gripping her necklace and looking back at the floor and her black heels. Maybe this was just a waste of time.... In fact, she figured she would just head back up to her dorm room, get into comfortable clothes and go to the kitchen.
However, as she turned to leave, she both saw and heard the one person that could keep her calm. She nearly threw herself at him, being in her heels she was tall enough to wrap her arms around his neck and hug him tightly. He was a life savor on so many levels. "James! I'm so glad you showed up!" Dropping down from her toes, she lowered her arms and smiled vibrantly up at him. She was still very short compared to him, in fact, he still had about 10 inches on her, but she didn't mind in the least bit.
"I-I was having a good time... Until my date was sidetracked.... She-she s-seemed to change." Emma frowned slightly and chewed on her bottom lip before looking back up at him. She smiled once again, happy to see him. "You look very handsome, James." She blushed slightly at her own statement, and turned to look down at his chest instead of at his gorgeous face.

James wasn't surprised at all by Emma's reaction. The girl she had been here with had practically abandoned her. Knowing what Emma was like, he suspected that she would feel a little lost and perhaps want to leave, only because she wouldn't feel safe here with all these guys around. Of course, there was no need to retreat, he was there now and still without a date, so James would take care of her. He leaned down a little, hugging her back. She was smiling though and obviously happy to see him but James already knew it would be this way. He knew a lot about what was going on and how things would turn out and all just from what he saw. Deductive reasoning was a skill he was glad he had. Some people just seemed to lack the ability to use it altogether and it annoyed him a lot of the times when someone who fail to see something that was so blatantly obvious to him. He didn't understand emotions but thanks to deduction, he could at least predict it quite accurately. James listened and nodded. "Apparently she has multiple personalities.. Maybe she switched to one of them," he told her, giving her a good reason for it and thus hoping to make her feel better now that she had an explanation for what had just happened. "Thank you," he said with a smile, straightening out his jacket and sliding a hand into his pocket. He did look very well put together. James could probably walk into a board meeting right now and sit right down without looking out of place. "You look beautiful," he told, taking the time to look her over. It was a nice dress and she did look lovely in it but James wouldn't have said a thing like that for no reason. He was still playing a role when he was with Emma but he assumed he would be playing it for as long as he knew her. This wasn't a problem though, James wanted to fit in. He had finally decided that the alternative was simply unacceptable. He was not going to risk getting caught time and time again for whatever stupid thing he was up to and then be locked up for an eternity. No, that just wasn't going to happen and if he was to avoid that then he needed a normal life and Emma was going to help him get it. TAG: Emma-Lise, Kiana/Roxie NOTES: lmao I love Shawn! "Multiple personalities?" Well that actually explained a lot. As well as made her feel a bit better about the situation. James was good like that, he always had a way of making her feel better. And she greatly appreciated him for that. "I'm hoping she just... switched. I quite enjoyed Kiana's company." She smiled sweetly up at him, holding her clutch purse at her waist and kicking softly at the floor with the toe of her high heels.
She blushed slightly at his thanks and shook her head. "You're welcome. I still think you should be a model." She giggled softly, remembering the night that she had stayed with him because of her nightmares. And she was quite pro at saying things in certain situations that should probably be kept quite. Saying he should be a model was one of them, but she didn't regret it now. Her blush grew darker as he called her beautiful. She wasn't used to being called beautiful, cute, yes, but beautiful, no. In fact, she was sort of short words.
Instead of saying anything at all, she leaned up and placed a soft kiss on his cheek, right at the corner of his lips. Falling back down onto her heels, she smiled, "Th-thank you, James." She tilted her head slightly toward a nearby speaker and smiled a bit bigger. It wasn't often that a station or DJ were on a roll, but this one had one amazing song list. Looking back up at him, she sucked lightly on her lower lip before twirling her hair and speaking up, "Would... would you like to d-dance?" She was still in a dancing mood even if her dance partner had left for the time being. "I'm not the best though..." She looked down at her heels and frowned slightly.

"If she was acting like a different person then that's probably what happened," he told her, resting a hand on her back, trying to make her feel better. Kiana would probably be alright but he was sure she would have her own personal drama to deal with. Waking up, not knowing what had happened, it couldn't have been good but it didn't matter to him. Emma was important to him, not that Kiana girl. He hardly even knew her. In fact that was the reason he picked her to pair up with Emma, because she didn't know him, she was female and was low risk. James just laughed a little. "Well at least I'll have that to fall back on if I need help paying for college," he told her with a smile. You could definitely earn some decent money doing a thing like that but James knew that he couldn't tolerate doing it for a living. It was just not stimulating enough. James smiled when she kissed him on the cheek. "Your welcome," he told her. "I was just about to ask you that," he told her with a smile. "I'm sure you're fine," he told her. "Here, this'll be easier," he said before reaching out and taking her hand in his, pulling her closer and placing a hand on her waist. The song had changed and was slow enough to slow dance to. "I don't know if she's coming back but we won't have to stay here for too long if you don't want to," he told her. After the dance, he was happy to take her some where else if it was too much to be here but James was sure that she would be fine with it. He was there now so they could stay all night and she would be perfectly safe. He wouldn't let anything happen to her but he had to make the offer just in case she wanted to take it. As he grabbed for her hand and pulled her closer, Emma smiled sweetly and placed her other hand on top of his shoulder. He was correct in saying it would be easier, especially since he was the one to lead. So instead of doing her own thing, she fallowed him, moving slowly from side to side with him. Looking up at him, "I like dancing... Even if I'm not the greatest." She giggled softly, a sweet sound along with the slow music.
She listened to him speak again, saying that they didn't have to stay if she didn't want to seeing as they weren't quite sure how long her date would be. Emma thought it over, debating over what his ideas might be. She trusted him though, so she'd fallow him anywhere. She stepped forward and rested her cheek on his chest comfortably. She shrugged softly, her mind coming to a conclusion. "I don't mind either way. We can dance or we can go for an adventure." she tilted her head up to look at him, her chin on his chest. "Lead the way."
