Alicia is very patient, she has to be to teach teenagers. Especially the problemed kind. Though her views are kind of iffy, with the whole she doesn't grade anything. Afterall, art is passion not something to grade. She's sweet and very caring and connects emotionally(or tries to) with her students. Though she can be strict, depending on the situation of course, she wouldn't let kids slide on drugs but if they have small drinks here and there, she doesn't really tattle on them.

Alicia’s childhood was decent, of course when you don’t include the alcoholic mother and barley there father. Of course her mom didn’t become a raging alcoholic until she was a teen, and she had the ability to fend for herself. Though she was already going off the deep end and got into crack and other nasty things.

She cleaned up the moment she got pregnant with her first daughter Florencia. She just thought the name was utterly wonderful and elegant in a not so normal way. Of course she had to start working, and the money was in the nightshifts. So to take care of her children she left her mother in charge. Though, she figured out too late that her mother had gone back to her old ways and not really changing at all. So she was about to find a new babysitter when child services came and took them away.

She kicked her mother out but spiraled back to her old path of drugs until Flo reconnected with her four years ago. She started college and just finished. She found out that Flo and Ash were both in this school and applied. Apparently they needed a new art teacher, so she happily agreed to whatever wages they wanted to pay her. Hell she just wanted to see her kids again.
