AND I THROW MY HEART BACK TO THE OCEAN
nicknames: Ollie
sex: male
age: 17
birthday: March 3
grade: junior
orientation: gay
diagnosis: eating disorder level 3
problem: Ollie has extremely low self-esteem and even lower confidence in everything about himself – except for his voice. He hates his body. He thinks he’s disgustingly fat and can hardly look at himself in the mirror or see himself naked. He tends to starve himself in hopes that it will help him lose weight, but then he winds up binging out of control and beating himself up for it. He’s very shy and awkward, preferring to get lost in his music instead of seeking out the companionship he wants. Nothing anyone tells him changes his mind about the way he sees his body – in fact, it tends to make his periods of not eating longer, resulting in an even bigger binge when he can’t stand it any longer.

BUT IT DON'T GO FAR, IT COME BACK FLOATING
BUT IT DON'T GO FAR, IT COME BACK FLOATING
eyes: blue
face: slightly round with angular cheekbones and a shy, friendly smile
body: solid, definitely not as overweight as he thinks he is, broad shoulders, thick thighs and a soft belly
fashion: mostly jeans and hoodies, though he wishes he had the confidence to wear tighter clothes and makeup
playby: adam lambert
overall: Ollie’s generally hunched in on himself, trying not to draw attention. He keeps his body hidden by baggy clothes, recently dyed his hair black in the hopes it would make him seem more attractive… but he still hides himself.

AND I WATCH IT WASH UP WITH THE DEAD FISH
AND I WATCH IT WASH UP WITH THE DEAD FISH
dislikes: people staring when he’s not onstage, feeling awkward, eating, looking in mirrors, being naked, thunderstorms, anything sweet
strengths: excellent listener, his voice, his willingness to make friends if someone approaches him
weaknesses: being shy, lack of confidence, his body issues
secrets: he wishes his siblings would mess up someday… and he wishes he hadn’t been such a slut at his old school
worst memory: his family forgetting about his first show where he played the lead role
best memory: getting cast as the lead in his last show
desires: to fall in love, to become a famous singer, to have someone tell him he’s handsome and believe them
pet peeves: pens/pencils tapping on desks
overall: Ollie’s an extremely sweet boy, completely willing to befriend anyone who approaches him for friendship. He’s very bad at going out and talking to people though, and while he’s excellent at listening and relating and giving hugs when needed, he never seems to talk about his own problems. When it comes to his friends, he’s loyal, but he’s far too nonconfrontational to go out of his way to defend them. Even though he has such issues with himself, he enjoys performing, because when he’s singing, it’s like he’s a whole different person, someone who he can be proud of, unlike the shy loser he is most of the time. He’s never been in a relationship because of his issues, but he wants to fall in love more than anything else.

BUT IT AIN'T QUITE DEAD, IT JUST IS LIKE THIS
BUT IT AIN'T QUITE DEAD, IT JUST IS LIKE THIS
siblings: Otto and Oswald (older brothers, twins, chef and author respectively), Olivia (older sister, pageant queen)
other relatives:
history: Ollie was a little bit of an accident. He was born into the family of five, joining his seven year old brothers and five year old sister, and even though his siblings were so young, Ollie already had big expectations. Otto was already messing around in the kitchen, Ozzie was writing advanced stories for his age and Olivia had won a myriad of pageants in their area already. James and Trina didn’t have a whole lot of time on their hands to begin with, since they were both busy running the family vineyard, and when Ollie didn’t blossom into a young prodigy like his siblings, he kind of fell by the wayside. He preferred spending his time alone, wandering through the vineyards and singing to himself than getting involved in activities. He was always there to support his brothers and sister though, clapping and smiling and congratulating them. There was nothing in his mind that screamed he should try to live up to their standards. Even as a child he knew he was different than his family. He was pudgy and ginger haired, unlike his thin, dark haired siblings, covered in freckles instead of having pale perfect skin. So Ollie stayed in the background, just waiting for his parents to notice him – which of course, they never did.
Puberty was bad for Ollie when it started. He seemingly got all of the acne his siblings never got, and he gained even more weight. As he got older, his friends from elementary school drifted away, making him desperate for companionship. He started starving himself at age 12. Not eating was easy, considering the lack of attention he garnered at school and at home. But eventually, he would break down and binge, crying through half of the family’s pantry of hunger and guilt, and then the whole cycle would start again. When he didn’t lose weight, he grew even more desperate, especially as he went into high school.
Ollie gained a reputation from the beginning of freshman year. Pudgy, lonely and beginning to accept his homosexuality, he was a perfect target for a handsome senior like Zack. Zack started talking to Ollie, flirting and spending time with him. Ollie, like any teenager, crushed on him so hard he thought it would crush him. He tried to hide it, but he’d never been very suave. When Zack asked him about it, Ollie was shocked when the senior told him he felt the same way. That night Ollie was coaxed into giving his first blow job, choking and spluttering around the older boy’s flesh. Zack never kissed him or anything more than just a ruffle of his hair before he left. But being naïve and hopeful, Ollie hoped it meant they were dating. The next day he saw Zack kissing the head cheerleader, and after a tearful meeting, he realized he’d just been used. However, when one of Zack’s friends started talking to him, he fell for it again… and again… until it was a regular thing, him giving head to the older popular boys. It felt good for a while, but after, he would feel worse than ever.
The one saving grace he had was theater. As a sophomore, he was cast in a leading role in Jesus Christ Superstar. Ollie rehearsed for weeks, wearing out his voice and exhausting his muscles, just so he could finally be as impressive as his brothers and sisters. He wanted to feel his mother hugging him and his father patting him on the back, saying how proud they were of him. But when opening night came and went, and closing night passed with unfulfilled promises to attend, Ollie realized it was never going to happen. He stopped eating for a week, until the school nurse found him passed out in the bathroom. His guidance counselor suggested he be sent away for school, and his parents, confused and overwhelmed, agreed. Ollie had little choice in the matter, but he figured it would be better than the life he had in Napa. He hasn’t made a whole lot of progress since he came to Maine, though. These things take time… and the stash of junk food in his closet doesn’t help when he’s trying to stop himself from binging.

OH MY HEART, IT'S A HOUSE IN TORNADO

Scotty was never one to deal with hot lunch at school. There was just something he didn’t like about going through a line for mediocre food slopped on a plate. Maybe that made him a snob, but whatever. It reminded him too much of going to a buffet, and buffets freaked him the fuck out. Food sitting out where people could do whatever they wanted to it? He didn’t want to have his food with bodily fluids attached, thank you very fucking much. He knew it was weird, and he was supposed to be a teenage boy who ate anything in sight, but he drew the line at buffet food. Granted the food he had packed for his own lunch wasn’t quite the healthiest thing on the planet, but he knew where it came from and exactly who prepared it and yeah. Definitely much more comforting than getting ravioli that smelled vaguely of feet and was made by ornery looking ladies in hairnets.
Scotty gratefully flopped into the chair, sprawling out in a way only a teenage boy could hope to achieve. His backpack thumped onto the floor next to him as he flashed the other guy another grin, running one hand back through his hair. ”Don’t worry. Crisis averted, I’m sitting down. I can already feel the trauma of school lunch smell slipping away.” Idly, he rummaged around in his backpack, pushing aside shiny new books he hadn’t stowed in his locker yet and various papers he supposed he should have looked at when they gave them to him in the office the day before to pull out his lunch. ”Ah, fainting crisis cured by roast beef and cheese with pickles.” One blue eye dipped in a wink as he opened up the bag, pausing before taking his first bite.
”Wow. I’m definitely glad I’m sitting here. Everyone else has been treating me like some kind of shiny new toy. Yeah, I’m new here. First day was yesterday,” he said with a nod. ”I’m Scotty. Well. Saul, but if you call me Saul, I’ll probably think you’re pretty pissed at me. So, Scotty’s better, unless you’re actually pissed at me, and then you could just… call me Saul. It’s a much less painful indicator than getting my ass kicked,” Scotty told him with a charming sort of smile. Or he hoped it was charming, anyway. Wow. He needed to work on this whole not rambling like a complete and utter asshole in front of cute guys.
