No one was quite sure what was going on in the young brunettes head. Not even the counselors were able to get into her head, she had done very well at building those walls up. She wasn't about to let them come crumbling down and allow someone else to find out what happened to her all those months ago. It was almost laughable at how hard the counselors tried to pry their way into her mind, but ultimately failing at doing so. With a small smile on her lips constantly on her lips and her bubble personality, no one could ever guess that she was here for suicide attempts, depression, and anorexia. Hell, she told everyone what she was here for and no one believed her. It didn't matter though, because no one would ever consider the idea of her attempting suicide another time. In their minds, she was just as normal as any other person. She didn't belong in a place like this.
With her sunglasses over her eyes, Hope walked through the garden of the school, enjoying the smell of all the fresh flowers that were just starting to bloom. She was so excited that it was finally heating and the snow was melting. She could bring out her shorts and wear them. Of course, she felt self-conscious in them, but she didn't care. She loved spring and summer clothing. She let a smile come to her lips as someone passed her, she gave a wave to them, not caring if she knew them or not. She wasn't about to just let people pass her and not let herself be known. She let herself fade into the background of the garden for a moment, invisible to most people. She just stood there, allowing her chocolate brown eyes to scan the garden. She let the image flow in her mind, a bright smile coming to her lips for a moment.
Finally, she left the gardens and starting walking across the grounds of the school. There were never that many people outside at this school. Either they were too dangerous to be allowed out for too long, or they were too busy trying to find a way to get high and/or drunk. It was quite sad how many teenagers were here for substance abuse. She always felt like the goody-two-shoes of the school because she absolutely refused to do anything like that. You'd think that she'd try, because she'd forget about everything momentarily. But no, after watching her brother and his friends do it for so long, she grew to hate it. Her nose scrunched up at just the thought as she arrived to the courtyard. She sat on the edge of the fountain and let her hand run on top of the water for a moment, before letting out a sigh and running her hand through her curly hair.
It was May, meaning the school year would be ending soon. Then, she'd be a senior and one step closer to leaving this terrible place. How amazing that would feel. She could leave, go to college, and live life how she wanted to. No one telling her that she was sick or that something was wrong with her. A smile came to her lips at just the thought, before she noticed someone walking towards the courtyard as well. She waved at them for a moment, before grinning and looking down into the water to see her reflection.
