"I was only teasing." he said with a smile. Bryson knew his style wasn't unique that he did wear a part of professinal and well right now he was lax, but board shorts weren't unique or anything like that.
Surely the girl was more self-conscious then most girls, because well her image was different she wasn't physically a girl, but she would be someday, but she was happy how she was and her look fit her. "Just being honest no need to thank me." he said with a smile.
He smirked when she laughed, becuse sometimes he didn't know if some of the things he said sounded cheesy or if it fit him. He just couldn't help but overthink things sometimes, becuase well at the same time it was his job. The man did think about a lot of aspects for a living.
"I try I try." he joked. He wasn't cocky, but he well he was a really funny guy underneath it all after you pulled of the layers and got to talking to him, but the students well most of them would not get to see that side of him.
"Alright, you said it now you can't back out." he joked. Yeah, okay maybe he should stop, but well today was a nice day and he couldn't help it and she had seen nothing but a serious side of him before. This side was totally new.
"Alright cool." he said turning off his joking because it was kind of a serious moment and well he didn't want to overjoke and totally scare he away and what not. That would be bad.
That was pry something to save for a session, because well he'd pry talk to her about how it made her feel and well right now he wasn't studying her in that way, because that was not appropriate. Now wasn't the time, but the fact that she decided to share with him made him smile. "Oh did he? How is he?" he asked curiously, because her uncle seemed like he was a serious presence in hre life.
"Thats a big step of your Unlce and very noble. he said not knowing what to say, because well he didn't want to get into his job mode, because he wasn't getting paid to hang out with Zilya she wasn't saying this in confidence right now she was speaking freely to him as a friend. Though sometimes it was hard for Bryson to balance the two.
"Ah, well maybe it would be good for him to wait then yes, I mean from what I know...the guy is an ass, but I mean something messy is never good and if he comes here itll be on a Visa, and if your father gets mad then he could turn things against your Uncle and its pry just safer to wait the ten months, plus...being around me isn't so bad is it?" he joked with a smile. There was always the selfish side, but the police could get involved if her Uncle did show and he was special to her so he figured he'd just give her his honest opinion and that information.

Zilya just smiled. He was definitely easy to talk to and easy to be around. They were a lot of people like that around for her so it was nice to find someone like that. He was funny too which was also nice and even when he said something silly it was cute in her opinion and it fit in with who he was. Sure, there was that very serious and professional side but underneath that was this really sweet and really nice guy that Zilya was slowly starting to get to know.
It was nice when you could meet someone with a lot more to them than what's on the surface. It was like a chance to excavate and find more.. which sounded pretty weird but it worked for a metaphor.
"I won't," she said confidently with a smile. This was a different side to him but Zilya had wanted to see it and she did like it. She wanted to keep getting to know him but there ere still a lot of factors to consider, like the fact that he was older than her, the fact that she was a student in high school and that he was her psychiatrist etc.
Zilya had her reasons for telling him now rather than waiting. She didn't want to talk to her psychiatrist. what she needed was a friend to help her think things over and although his job would probably be a big part of who he was, she was sure that he was capable of just going about this a different way, at least for now.
"he's fine," she told him, she hadn't said much about her mother's older brother but then she hadn't told him much about her family at all. "Noble, maybe a little because I know he wants to help me but I also know he hates my father so this is maybe a father for him to get back at him a bit," she admitted. The man had hurt his sister so obviously her uncle wouldn't like him.
Zilya actually had a small smile but quickly got rid of him when he called her father an ass. He wouldn't have done it in his office but as a friend he was definitely allowed to say that and it was an honest opinion, one that wasn't too far from the truth so she appreciated it and thre fact that he could just be there for her and not as her psychiatrist either.
She smiled when he mentioned being around him. He had a point there. She had hated it at first but now, since she didn't have to be near her father, it really wasn't so bad. "Thank you," she said with a hand on his shoulder. It was all just a subconscious act to be closer to him. He was just so darn nice and attractive and funny and probably a lot more perfect than anyone else she could possibly run into here. It was really all she needed to hear too and he definitely had helped.

Bryson smiled back her way. She was sweet and great company. The first person besides a teacher that he kind of sat down with and didn't have to kind of work. Well, besides her friends Summer and Zac, those two kids were hilarious, but he hadn't even noticed what they had and well it kind of weirded him out that they had stalked him. Hey, but people did weird things for a friend. She was very pretty and more outgoing then he had thought. He really was liking getting to know her though. He had no complaints.
The story wasn't always writting on the surface or the cover and that is why people said not to judge by the cover, but in this case, the cover is kind of what she was trying to potray. Though the inner layers or the context of the book was what was interesting to him.
He smiled wider when she said she wouldn't back out of meeting his daughter. That was a big step. That was something they'd have to save for a bit more time to come. The odds were less in his favor of this working...he was old, he was a psychiatrist at the school she attended, and he had a kid/previous marraige, but he wasn't a complicated guy. Beyond all that he was really just like any normal guy trying to make sense of this world. That was kind of weird considering his profession, but everyone had to do it. "Good, I am glad." he said in response.
Bryson, would get into the deaper stuff when it came time to it, but he wasn't trying to do that now he was trying to think of all the complexities behind the dangers and such, but without trying to scare her or make her speak on matters that should be talked to him about in private. He was capable of seperating the two, but it was hard sometimes, because he was so use to certain important issues being talked about in a session.
"Glad to hear it." he replied and listened to what she had to say and deciphered it. "Well, I can see that point of it but I can also see the point of Hawthorne being a school for troubled kids, and well in my opinion Zilya you're not really troubled so you don't belong there and I know that is pry what he see's as well, but at the same time the trouble kids part comes to mind and maybe he fears for you when it comes to that aspect of the school." he said throwing that out there for her to kind of ponder on.
Bryson, truly believed when you took the expression away from your kid when they were trying to be themself then you were completely off and you were a jerk, an ass, many different names in the book came to mind. He looked down at his feet and stired up the sand a bit, maybe that wasn't right of him to call her father an ass it could have upset her.
When she placed a hand on his shoulder he smiled turning his head her way just waiting to hear what she had to say. It was simple, but at the same time it was just right. "Anytime." he replied back. He was here for her and he meant that. Sure, they still needed to get to know eachother more, but he really did like the girl and they were going to grow he just knew it and it was rather perfect.

Zilya hardly knew him but it didn't even matter because getting to know him was so easy and he was such a sweet honest person. With Bryson, it was easy to tell that he was who he was. There was no pretending or exsagerating. He just was a good person and it showed.
He seemed pretty happy about the fact that she had agreed to meet his daughter but Zilya didn't think it was a big deal. She liked kids and she was sure thaat his would be lovely so there really wasn't anything bad about it and if there were, she just wouldn't think about it.
She smiled a little when he said that she wasn't troubled. Well she knew that so this wasn't news to her. Zilya was far from perfect but then no one was perfect. She did alright with what she had and although there were still things to work through, she was fine with life at this point. Sure, the thought of seeing her own father again scared the hell out of her but it wasn't worth sending her to a school like this.
Zilya just shrugged. She didn't want to speculate on these things. It wasn't really her place to. All she knew was what she knew and that was that she wanted to be able to just live her own life without all these retraints on her but she would have to wait for that time to come. For now, she could just be happy being here. She could make this work.
He was so nice and he did help a lot. ZIlya wanted so much to just lean over and kiss him but that would probably be weird. They barely knew each other but she liked him, it was hard not to. It got quiet again and she was kind of close. Zilya thought about it for a second. What was life without a few risks here and there. You had to take chances right, even with the little things that weren't going to make too much of a difference. One tiny little gesture couldn't do a whole lot... with that though, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

The whole shield yourself from the world never really worked, because well someone even the smallest person discovered you and then if it was a secret it blew up like an explosive messege. He had always been one hundred percent himself. That was harder for others to discover, because well the consequences could be a lot harder depending on the person, but he bore his punishment for being a dork in high school, because somehow it was a right of passage to bully the smart kid. He stayed away from certain things in college in order to graduate early. He had been married and already bore a child and that was his reality thus far that and helping others figure out their own reality.
When you had a kid and you were a male and divorced there were many different labels about a man like that. It could be that you wren't father material, you were a pig, you were a horrible person...and that is what he worried about when he told Zilya, but the truth was he and the mother agreed that it was healthier to be seperated that they couldn't love eachother in a civil union like they thought they could have. It impressed him that Zilya wanted to meet his kid. Surely, the two of them just admited having feelings for eacthoer, but well he thought that would be a reason to wig her out and not want her to meet Aimee.
Being sent to this school was a mistake, but she was also a lot safter here then in the care of her father. Here if she didn't act up or do anything wrong to get sent to lock down which she wouldn't unless she well didn't eat or got caught throwing up or doing something illegal then she'd be fine. This is where he kind of worried about that Zac boy and Summer girl. The girl was here for a drug addiction and the boy was drunk the other night when he met him. Peer pressure, but it would still be far less trouble then being with her father.
He watched as she just shrugged. "Just be who you want to be express yourself thats what you're teenage years are about and its not like pardon me...your father is here to harm your being...sure he sent you here for the wrong reason, but I'm telling you there is nothing wrong with being you...you are who you are and even if he is blood you define you not someone else...you can pick your friends, you can pick who you dislike, you can pick who you like and love, but you can't pick family, but you can surely make it your own...I get the guy is your father, but just keep that in mind." he said and smiled at her. Sure she pry wouldn't change her mother and uncle for the world, but the father figure was a giant jackass and having that in mind might help her.
For a bit as he looked out into the water and watched her somewhat from the corner of his eye it was dead calm. He could hear her light breaths as she had been sitting close to him and he pondered on her thoughts. He really at the moment in time figured so much should and could be going through this girls head. She was a teenage girl after all. His full attention had been on the waves splashing against the beach soaking up the sand as she soaked up the sun and miss Zilya's company. He felt her lips on his cheek and felt a smile creep up on his face and his cheeks flush pink a little bit. He turned to look at her. "What'd I do?" he asked wondering how he had suddenly earned that.
