Getting through a day with his irrational hatred of students was always the hard part of working at Hawthorne. In fact, it was the worst part of the whole job. He wanted to know what else was out there, where else he could go that could give him some chance at happiness. That was why he was leaving. He would eventually find somewhere where he wouldn't wish himself dead every morning he woke up. He leaned against the concrete wall overlooking the main area of the courtyard with a lush drink in his hand. He loved the high alcohol gave him in the morning. He was living Dionysian and enjoying every second. He'd been completely sober while he was in Spain and since he came back last week he'd only had a pack of twelve beer last night, consequently causing him to pass out. He'd had to bite his tongue last night to keep a strand of curse words from leaving his mouth during parent-teacher night for the seniors.
Drink was his worst enemy and he was an enemy of drink. With every yawn he could taste the alcohol on his breath. They were going to be nemeses until it killed him. His head was drowning in confusion as he tried to remember where he was. Oh yes, the courtyard. He remembered this area. Didn't go there much, what with all the failures around. He disliked them so much. Aside from the one student he had a crush on. With him every bob of his head, movement of his body, was as valuable as time. He wondered where he was today. Keeping secrets from him was one thing, sneaking away from him after classes was another. He'd been so pissed at him when he told him he was leaving for Spain, Luis had just avoided him senselessly. He hadn't even given him the present he'd bought him back from Spain. He was a little nervous to do so though, knowing what would come after it.
After some dirty flirting with a nearby tree Luis realized he was in no state to be at the school today and started making his way home, bumping into someone that would prudentially stop that from happening.

Isaac was pretty busy with petty little things. It was always the little things that kept him busy. This time Summer was trying to convince him to swipe the house keys of a psychiatrist at the school, all for some crazy plot to get the girl some information she wanted.
Summer was his best friend though and although Isaac was getting out of the craziness and finally heading down somewhere good, it was hard to say no to his best friend. He still has it under control. Zac was doing pretty damn well but since his favorite teach got back, Zac had to wonder why the man seemed to be avoiding him.
After quickly bumping into the doctor, Zac lifted his keys pretty easily before handing them to Summer and walking away. He told her he was busy, had he had things to do and she seemed to understand when he was too far away for her to protest anyway.
Walking down through the grounds, Zac was on the hunt. He knew he saw Luis around her somewhere. With the thick red flannel shirt over a gray t-shirt, Zac was looking pretty comfortable. His had one of his newer pairs of jeans on but he hadn't taught too much about what he was wear. He was more concerned about Luis and it seemed he had good reasons to be.
Zac saw the man near a tree. He wasn't looking like himself and it took him a moment before he recognized what was on. The man was drunk and it became pretty clear to him. When the man left, Zac followed him a bit and stopped him.
"Hey," he said. "What did you do? Drink a whole liquor store?" he asked, at least offering him a half smile because he didn't want this to go badly. "You know the hang over's gonna kill in the morning, don't ya?" he said, though it wasn't something most people liked to have pointed out to them. Isaac could even smell the alcohol on him. Now, Zac liked a drink from time to time but this was pretty crazy.

"Yeah. Sorry. Your not my bed." he stated, moving past him and started walking in the direction of home. He was coming down from the drink nicely but getting there was the hardest part of drinking. Walking straight was an issue, remembering where you lived, especially in a forest where every tree looked familiar, that was hard. "You know..." Luis gave a midway between a laugh and a chuckle, his rumbling humor trailing off to ask "you need to do..you need to um, help me back. yeah?" he stammered, his eyes blinking profusely. At one point he was so low he was close to crawling back. He led Isaac's example to take him back to his place, knocking and banging on his own door for a few seconds before realizing he could just use the key. He pulled his key out and fiddled a little before he could get the metal frame through the lock.
His first instinct was to fling himself onto the couch. Then he bounced off the couch and went into the kitchen where his Polbo á feira that would be ready in time for dinner was cooking away nicely. The smell reminded him of home. He felt like his heart was shattered into a million tiny pieces every day he was away from home. ”So, what brings you here?” he purred conspicuously as if Isaac had just walked through his door for no reason. He checked on dinner then flopped back onto the couch, his arm hanging off the edge. He tried to lay down comfortably but it was an impossible feat. Nothing was comfortable. Luis considered going to bed, which was odd for him considering he'd never slept during the day, ever. Drink turned him into the devil. "You can pull up, havesstuff if you want to. Unless you got things to do?" he questioned, patting his armchair that his hand could only just reach.
He didn't want to seem immature compared to the other male so he did his best to sit up, acting at least amused by some kind of aspect of this situation. His next words were a lot more like him, though. "Aren't you meant to be in class?" he asked, pushing his cookbook with his dinner cooking on the open page off the armchair so Isaac could sit down. The throbbing in his head wasn't going away either. "Ow," groaned Luis, feeling his forehead. Almost like a hangover coming early. "I think I need an icepack." he blurted, not the best man to be of use in a medical situation.

Isaac just raised an eyebrow at the man. Wasn't he suppose to be the mature adult in this situation? Isaac wasn't going to say much about him being drunk though, he had the right to be, there were just better alternatives.. But then it could be pretty hypocritical to think of it that way. Isaac tended to have a drink or two when things weren't going his way, it was perfectly normal but he didn't like seeing Luis like that.
Turning around he just followed the man. At least this way he could make sure the guy got home instead of ending up passed out in some ditch somewhere. He couldn't help himself, he smiled a little at Luis' words. "Well I'm not followin' ya to stalk ya, am I?" he told him, basically letting him know that helping him get home was Zac's plan too. "Though with all those trees for cover and your current state, I could easily take advantage of you," he said, he wouldn't though. Luis was drunk and Zac just wanted to make sure he got home alright.
Getting there was half the battle, watching Luis try to get himself into his own house seemed like his reward. Isaac just stared for a moment before mentioning keys then watched as the man tried to get them into the lock. Getting inside, Zac was hit with the smell of a nice meal cooking. At least Luis had thought about this in advance so that was something.
"I've come to steal your things so I can sell them for money to pay a drug lord," Zac said, arms crossed as he stood there. If he was going to be asked a question like that then he was going to get a crazy answer.
He thought for a moment before sitting down on the arm chair. "Aren't you?" he asked when Luis brought up the question. This wasn't really about him.
"You didn't hit your head or anything did ya?" Zac asked as he got up off the couch moved into the kitchen. He felt comfortable here though with how often he found himself here it wasn't all that surprising. returning he handed Luis a glass of water and something for headache. It would help just a little at least and he looked like he needed it.
sitting back down, Zac pulled Luis against him a little and ran his hand through the man's hair, massaging his head gently to try and help just a bit. "So why'd you do it?" he asked about Luis getting drunk. "Because you do realize you could just talk to me instead. Saves you havin to deal with a hang over," he told him.

"Not even to rape me?" he asked wide-eyed when Isaac said he wasn't stalking him. Seemed somewhat kinky to Luis in his state of mind. The length of time through the forest wasn't long but enough to make Luis' legs almost entirely cramp up. No wonder he was boring compared to all Isaac's friends, he thought skeptically. He smirked when Isaac claimed he had a drug lord to supply, "just don't pull out the second drawer of my bedside cabinet. got enough weed to last a million." he bragged, he was joking but if Isaac were to check then that'd be funny.
He saw Isaac's smile and returned it. Until he mentioned that Isaac could've been there. "Not really. We don't live here together you just stop by when your not with your friends or not in class. that gives me a lot of time to think.. and drink." he pointed out. Luis got up from Isaac's touch, if he could have an early dinner then it was a bonus to him. He'd have offered Isaac some if he were accustomed to Galecian cuisine. He was a sinner for Galecian meals, back home he couldn't walk through the door without one on the stove. that would probably change as soon as he got a roommate, which is why he never took one on, despite rent being disastrously high. Plus it would be hard to hide his shower singing from another person living with him. He checked on the dinner and then shut the front door, almost falling out of the house entirely while doing so.

"Maybe if you're lucky, I will," Zac told him, though technically it would be consensual anyway. Zac just raised an eyebrow. He was certain that Luis was only joking about the weed but in his current state, who knows. Still, he sort of let it go for now. For once, curiosity didn't get the better of him.
"Good point, but I do have this fancy new piece of technology called a phone and if you put me on speed dial, I'm literally one push of a button away," Zac pointed out. He wasn't that hard to get a hold off and he didn't see why Luis and to go getting drunk all alone. If the guy was out with some friends then sure i would be a social thing but this was entirely different. He was either a serious alcoholic or he had some serious problems... Either way, chances were something was going on.
He turned and watched as the guy went off to the kitchen. "Careful not to hurt yourself Luis, I didn't come here to help sort any burns you might get," he pointed out, only to later find the guy barely able to shut his own door. "Just out of curiosity," Zac began, "Why've you been avoiding me all day?" he asked.

Luis returned with his own raise of the eyebrows, taunting him. Expecting him to be mean about the fact that he was drunk. Luis tried to stop his body from swaying but his head felt so light. So Luis humbly sat back down and left the kitchen alone, knowing somewhere that Isaac had a point about cooking. He sighed, wondering if it was safe to be living alone when he was cooking and doing dangerous things under the influence of alcohol. "Yeah that's what I want to do, interrupt your life just because I've been drinking a bit. I thought this was what you wanted anyway." Luis responded, thinking about all Zac's friends that have no doubt coerced him into drinking even after he'd promised Luis. Friends that knew a person drunk didn't give up easily.
He wasn't an alcoholic anyway, just misunderstood. Robbed of his dream job. Expected to run away to another country with an eloping teenager that had no idea what he was letting himself in for. Luis would always let Zac do whatever the hell he wanted, so long as he didn't expect them to slot together like Jekyll & Hyde. Zac was just a curious kid wanting to see what it was like in a serious relationship. He was so mixed up about it all, the guy didn't even know his middle name or what job he had before or all the places he'd been.
"Because I'm afraid to talk about the future" Luis admitted with a shrug.

Isaac just looked confused. It truly made no sense to this. "This is definitely not what I wanted and I want you to be a part of my life Luis, you wouldn't be interrupting anything then," he explained. That was what he had been hoping for with Luis this whole time but it seemed it was a more difficult thing to accomplish than he had previously thought.
Isaac stayed silent when Luis spoke. That wasn't exactly the answer he was expecting. Isaac thought it'd be something he could talk him out off or explain away but what he said was something more serious than that and the eighteen year old just wasn't sure ho to respond to that.
"well ya can't hide from things like that forever," Isaac pointed out. Face your fears and all that, right? Maybe if Luis just talked about it and got it over with then it wouldn't be such a big bad scary thing, at least that was what Isaac thought.

Luis was absolutely mortified that Isaac still wanted him in his life. It made no sense, if anything it made things even more confusing for him. What Isaac said was definitely something to write a diary about, considering he genuinely didn't know the answer to Isaac's thoughts. What he saw for them, why he wanted to be with him. It just made him happy to hear Isaac say though that he wanted Luis in his life, a small smile started to grow on his lips. "Well how is it meant to work with me cycling from place to place, trips around the world and you'll be studying Law?" he asked bravely. He wanted the truth and knew that was exactly what he was going to get, he only needed to brace himself for the bad answer.
In his mind he was fast forwarding time, trying to see how it could work. Maybe they would occasionally see each other, or have regular visiting. It wouldn't be the same though, would it? And even further down the line was even more scary. He had a child that was to be born in four months that Zac didn't even know about. Luis kept his mouth shut while Isaac composed an answer. After all, the cards were in his hand now, hopefully he had the right answers but it was an awful lot to expect of a young man like him. Sexual contact with others was bound to be a temptation. Realizing that there was no handbook for relationships was the hardest thing, it had to be a freestyle thing. He was devastated that he couldn't acknowledge the relationship the way Isaac was hoping for. He knew Zac could be angry at him sometimes, he didn't love him any less for it though.
The fact was though that he had two lovers. One current, one ex, that had no idea about each other. He didn't know what Isaac would expect of him after telling him that.
