Being a captain of somethig, meant that other people depended on you to keep order. Though, Summer had really been getting along with a lot of people lately and well she was rather excited to be starting dance practice. It was rather early though, because the football team needed the floor and she didn't know where else they could practice. There was the courtyard but well that was a little small. This gave them plenty of room. Together her and Hope had come up with the music and a routine that would be pretty kickass. (Hope thats okay that I said they came up with it.). They had met and well it all came together. Hope had taken care of the ballet move department because well she was better at it then Summer. Ballet wasn't her strong suit, but Summer didn't want the whole routine to be purely hip hop. That had been done before it was boring! Plus, not everyone liked hip hop. The music was Britney Spear's version of Joan Jets I love rock n' roll. Summer wasn't the biggest Britney fan, but the song was perfect for this routine.
Summer walked out onto the field first of course. A half an hour before the girls had got there. She turned the song on repeat and started her counts. "Five six seven eight." she said counting out the steps as she went. The routine was very fun in her opionion. Though it wouldn't be there only one, but she thought it would be there first one. Once she was done going over it like three times she decided to shut the song off and get some water. Looking at he watch the girls were starting to show early. She liked that. She set her ihome up on the bench. It wasn't raining or anuthing so that was good but just in case she had carried a plastic drawer out on the field. Sure it would muffle the music, but there wasn't much she could do she didn't have access to the announcer booth and that would mean running up and down the stairs. Great excercise but very tedious.
She grabbed her list to see who would be on the squad. She looked over the list. She knew her roomate and of course Hope and she had possible talked to some of these people on chat, but she didn't really recognize anyone else's name. Well at the moment. Faces were better for her anyways. "Hey girls" she said as they showed. She stood up straight with her hands on her hips. This was going to be exciting. She had never made captain of anytihng, but she couldn't wait to live the dance with these girls. They had a love for it as did she. To make it come alive was the best feeling ever. She knew there was or might be there occasional problem, but she could be a bitch or she could be sweet. She thought it'd be easier to break down the first half of the routine just for today. She wasn't one to drill it. The girls made the dance team for a reason they'd pick up on it.

rosie made her way to the sports field, her ocean blue eyes staring straight ahead on the lightening sky. it was early, but rosie didn't mind - she was used to getting up early. every monday, wednesday, friday, saturday, and sunday, rosie got up at 4 in the morning to run laps, do pilate's, and whatever else she could possibly do on the posrts field and the track course. it was part of her disorder, which still ate away at her, with nothing to help it. was hawthorne's treatment really working? it had been, at first. but when rudy left, everything went downhill for rosie. it still stung for her, but there was a little light - jonathon, the new kid whom she had met recently. he was colorful and exuberant, like she used to be. it brought a little life to rosalie's eyes.
she arrived at the field, spotting the captain and a few other girls around her. she had never met the captain, but she had heard of her and seen her around campus. she thought her name was summer, but she wasn't exactly sure. as she neared, she put on a smile for the girls, her exotic features brightening. "hey!" she said kindly, her voice regaining the enthusiastic strength it had lost in the days after rudy's departure. it may have been just a tiny bit of an act, but rosie wasn't as depressed as she had been at first. at least she could make the effort, for the girls who would potentially become some of her close friends.
"summer, right? i'm rosalie berlioz." rosie said brightly in her thick french accent, addressing the captain. "i'm really excited for routine today. i was wondering, are you planning on doing any ballet in these routines? that's my strong point." rosie said, thinking about the years of intensive ballet she took when she was in france. her mother had wanted her to become an aspiring ballerina, but once they moved to america and rosie developed her eating disorder, the dream crashed hard. rosie really enjoyed ballet though. in her spare time, she went to the gym to practice some routines that had been engraved into her mind at her old ballet company.
she took out her things and began stretching, eying the other girls. she wondered if hope had tried out for dance. the usually outgoing, friendly rosie felt shy in this environment, where she didn't know anyone. she had changed more than she thought. she thought of jonathon and relieved her mind of her depressing thoughts, taking deep breaths and finishing her stretch regime she had dutifully stuck to since her days in bretagne. standing, she wrapped her hair up into a tight, professional bun, ready to start practice. she reminded herself to hold a cheerleading practice and take summer's lead. the newly introduced sports teams hawthorne provided were lifting off, and rosie planned on making the best cheerleading team hawthorne could possibly have.

This had to be the most exciting thing going on in Hopes life right now. Things for her had cooled down alot for her at Hawthorne, and now lately she was either in the music room or in her room all the time. After things had ended with Kobby, there just wasn't much for her to do anymore. That's why when Hawthorne announced that they were holding try outs for sports, she jumped on the chance to do something. She was even more excited when she made both cheerleading and dance. Dance was a passion of hers, having done jazz and ballet at a young age. She made co-captain of the dance team from all of her experience and she definitely wanted to make a good impression on all of the girls that were participating.
She grabbed her bag and threw it over her shoulder, running out of her room. She was pretty much used to waking up early now. It was hard for her to sleep and when she did, it was only for a few hours at a time, so she usually found herself waking up at early hours of the morning. She bit her lip and she found herself drawing closer and closer to the sports field. She really hoped that the girls liked the routine that Summer and herself had prepared, she worked hard on nailing those ballet moves in the routine. It was her first time choreographing something for a whole team, so she didn't know how it would look. She could feel the nervousness settling in the pit of her stomach, not knowing how much experience these girls had with dance. What if some of them couldn't do the jumps or turns that she had incorporated into the upbeat routine? She knew that they probably would, but it was just a question that kept ringing in her mind.
Hope went over the movements in her mind as she walked outside, her brown eyes settling on the field. She brought her dancing shoes with her, because she knew that she was going to need them and she hoped that the girls did the same. She walked onto the field and sat her things down on a bench, before walking over to Summer and standing beside her with a big grin on her face. This is the day that she had been waiting for, probably the only excitement that was going to be happening in her life for a while. Well, besides Jeffs party. She didn't even want to go, but everyone convinced her to. She was just hoping that nothing bad would happen while she was there.
Her eyes scanned over the girls that were arriving and a huge grin made its way to her lips when she noticed her best friend walk up. Almost immediately, the blonde started talking to Summer, but the small latina couldn't help but answer her when she asked about ballet, "There is going to be some parts, thanks to yours truly," She said, her eyes beginning to gleam. Then, she let her eyes move from her friend to the others, just hoping they knew what they were in for.
