the dinning hall. at least that's what the school called it. if sterling were to name it, she'd name it the room of death. the food smelt, looked and tasted horrible. though it was the only food really available in the school except for on the weekends. and sadly today wasn't the weekend.
sterling shuffled across the room with a tray in her hands. supposedly the thing on it was meatloaf. the female thought different. looked nothing like what her mother had made back when she was child. this was more like a pile of dirt on a plate. not even. dirt would smell better.
sitting down at a random table, her eyes still locked on the "meatloaf". sterling hadn't really noticed whether or not the table she had sat at was empty or not. she just sat there. finally looking away, the female looked up and jumped in her seat when she noticed that there was a girl sitting across from her.
"Uhmm..." sterling started but didn't really know what to say. was she to apologize that she didn't ask if the seat was free? was she just to over look that and say hello? either way, it didn't matter. sterling sat there with her mouth slightly open and her eyes wide.

The dining hall is filled as per usual, with its many different problematic students. The food, as per-usual...sucked. It looked like a cow had slowly chewed every bit of it up, swallowed, and then shit it back out on a plate. This so called Meatloaf, looked worse then what i ate when i lived with my dad. And you wouldn't believe how horrible that was. I stabbed at it with my fork, almost expecting it to jiggle back into place. I almost gagged when i took a whiff of the scent. I mean jeez, can't they treat us a little better? I played around with my lighter, oh how i could use a smoke right now. haha, got you hooked again didn't i Will? Always knew you couldn't resist temptation. You do know that by doing this, your only killing yourself faster. Willy Willy willy, you can die, but surely i can't. You honestly think your untouchable?
I'm devastated that my time of silence is now gone, Jay's incredibly annoying presence is putting me in a bad mood, but i don't let it show. I look up when a girl sits down at my table. I looked at her a litte shocked by her presence. In the back of my head i hear Jay hiss in distaste. Tell her to leave Will, we want to sit alone. I pause for awhile. No. No? I said make her leave. I say no, i want to make a friend this time...you've made plenty..its my turn. It's just my thoughts now, and i shake my head slightly. "Hi. I'm Will." I say as politely as possible, to make up for being rude. Though I'm not sure if she will reply as nicely.

sterling just kind of sat there like an awkward turtle. she started to feel kind of bad for being so rude but her voice kept assuring her that it wasn't her fault and that the chick could leave if it bothered her that sterling was sitting there.
hearing the girl speak made starlight smile slightly. good, so she wasn't on the girl's bad side. it seemed like the complete opposite really. the other girl was being polite. but even though she now knew the girl wasn't mad at her, sterling didn't know what to say.
"Uhmm.." she repeated again as if she was a broken record. "..hi?" sterling's voice rising slightly making it sound like a question. shaking her head so slightly that it was barely viable, her eyes finally left the girl whose name was apparently "Will".
"I'm... Sterling... " the female started her reply out slow "Sorry for just barging in like this. Is it okay if I sit here?"
