So his parents were like hers. Fine with it one day, snapping the next telling her she's leaving. At least her parents weren't the only ones. Maybe Eliza's parents had gotten wind of what happened at the parties. Eliza smiled as he asked what she was here for. She would tell him both parts. Whether it would surprise him, or scare him, she was fine with it. He then pulled out his phone and texted someone quickly. "My parents sent me here for alcohol and drug abuse, but I've had certain phobias because of the partying. Unless I'm drunk, I can't avoid my phobias. Lately I'll do anything to get alcohol and drugs. Including sex. It probably sounds stupid, but I need the alcohol. The drugs are a plus." she said while playing with the bottle in her hand. She didn't want to look at him. He was most likely judging her. She was no better than the girls on the streets. WORDS ;; 150ish STATUS ;; Finished TAGGED ;; merrick OUTFIT ;; hereNOTES ;;

"I guess I can kinda understand that," he said with a shrug when she talked about the alcohol. It was he knew he needed too and yes, Merrick knew he would probably do quite a lot to get it but he had never been in a situation where he had to so what did it matter.
"Not that I've ever had to have sex for it.. If anything, it's usually the other way around," he explained. Well, it was sort of true. Women were always all over him but it was usually more for money in general and not simply alcohol. They would try for sex too and then demand payment after but Merrick didn't always give in. He wasn't a sex addict after all. What he was after was fun and great nights out in good company.
"Shit happens I guess," he said dismissively with a shrug as he drank more of the liquid. "You just gotta do what you gotta do," he said. People did what they needed to do to get by. It was a well known fact and one that Merrick knew well enough.

Eliza played with the rim of the bottle. Letting her fingers trace it, and do anything to keep her mind occupied. He would never go that far? Think if his parents cut off his allowance, not the hers cut hers, but if he wasn't getting enough money to get any alcohol, would he resort to other measures, probably. "I have the money, thats the thing, I choose to use my body to buy it instead of my money, because sometimes I think I'll need it elsewhere," she said softly. She took another swig of the whiskey and looked back down. "You probably think i'm a whore" she said softly before jumping off the edge and moving over towards the vents on the roof. She leaned against one of the vent with her shoulder, putting her head on the top of it and sighed. WORDS ;; 150ish STATUS ;; Finished TAGGED ;; merrick OUTFIT ;; hereNOTES ;;

"why would I think that?" he asked as though it made absolutely no sense to him what so ever. It wasn't whore-like so much as just plain survival.
"i actually know many, many prostitutes, whores and everything else in between and you're not much like then... At least as far as I can tell," he told her honestly. For one thing, they tended to do it for money and she was just doing it for money.

Eliza looked back at him. Why would he think that? Because thats what society would call her. Society doesn't agree with anything she did though. She was essentially a prostitute. Only instead of money, she took drugs and alcohol as payments. "Are you sure?" she asked. She moved back over towards the edge and just leaned on it. "Think if the administration knew what all the kids did they'd be horrified. I'd be locked up in Isolation for so long" she said as she laughed slightly. What the administration didn't know wouldn't hurt them right? WORDS ;; 100ish STATUS ;; Finished TAGGED ;; merrick OUTFIT ;; hereNOTES ;;

"Yeah.. Well, technically by definition you might be but personality-wise, you dont have that same drive. You do it because you gotta get what you need, they do it because.. That's just what they do," he explained, trying to highlight the differences for her an to help her understand why he had said what he said.
"Yeah we'd all be locked up for so long," he told her. Most of them got away with the things they did but he knew that over time the chances of getting caught would increase eventually, especially if you didn't change a thing.. Unless they were all incompetent and didn't do their jobs right, which in truth, Merrick would probably be grateful for because it would mean he would get his alcohol and not have to worry.
"So how long you been in this place?" he asked, trying to start some kind of conversation and get to know the girl who would be keeping him stocked up on the wonderful alcoholic stuff he needed.

She shrugged off their topic about her being a whore. She didn't want to linger on it much. She smiled when he agreed with her. It was obvious, if the staff came up here and just saw them up here they'd probably have a fit and throw them in isolation. Then if they found out that she was selling alcohol, strike number two, she'd be in there for longer. Then they'd probably both have to do a breathalyzer test, and she'd fail it so, strike three. She'd probably be in isolation for a month. "I've been here for a few years, but my last supplier got over his addiction, sadly and left. So I was forced to find a new one, but I have one now, and he's getting me anything I want" she said as she took another swig of her bottle. "Hence the little party up here" she said raising her bottle. WORDS ;; 150ish STATUS ;; Finished TAGGED ;; OUTFIT ;; hereNOTES ;;

"Right," Merrick said, taking in the story she was telling him. It made sense. Stuff happened, people weren't expected to stay in here forever and that was probably a good thing for him because he wanted out in less than a year so he had to hope those odds would work in his favor.
Still, with the hidden alcohol it probably wasn't all that likely but Merrick could still hope. He had that at least, despite nursing a drink right now and feeling rather overly protective of his bottle like it was water and he was running a marathon in the driest season he had ever experienced.
"Least you got a new one," he told her. "I'd drink to that," he said, clinking bottles before taking a nice swig of his own drink.

Eliza sighed. Some people got to leave this place, others were here until they were 18 and got themselves out, or finally graduated just the way they are. What really sucked was when they went around and randomly drug tested and gave breathalyzer tests to everyone on the grounds. You had to be sneaky on that day. Find ways to get the alcohol out of your system or know that it was coming so you didn't drink. Her first year she learned don't get caught on that day. Isolation lasts longer and its with worse people that usual. At least there weren't dogs that could sniff out alcohol, or so much that she knew. The alcoholics had it easier than the druggies, the dogs came and searched the school every so often. Needless to say many were caught. That was another reason she had so many stashes around the school, if they did find any of it, it had no links to her. Anyone had access to this roof, certain classrooms, anything like that. She smiled when he said that he could drink to that. She was now his supplier. "Of course we can drink to that! Otherwise there would be no alcohol" she said as the bottles clanged together and she took a drink. WORDS ;; 225ish STATUS ;; Finished TAGGED ;; merrick OUTFIT ;; hereNOTES ;;

"You got it the other way around. There's be no alcohol if we did drink to it because there'd be none left!" he told her, making perfect sense in his head, not even stopping to wonder if he had explained it right. It sounded right to him and that was good enough.
"I think I will definitely need more of this," he told her looking down at the bottle. The liquid was quickly draining from it and he wasn't sure how much he would have at all. Merrick had never stopped to count because knowing the amount would just make it seem worse, like he really did have a problem because of how much he was having. Either way he didn't want to think too much about it.
Taking another swig of it, Merrick turned back to the girl before speaking again. "So... Anything I should know if I plan on surviving in this place?" he asked with a cheerful grin. He figured he'd defer to her wiser judgment. She had been here longer anyway so he thought she might know all the tricks and perhaps share a few things or people he might want to look out for and avoid.

Eliza laughed as he tried to explain himself. It sounded moderately right, but yet kinda confusing. When he said that he'd need more she nodded. She needed more, but she was out until Gavin came in with her supply. "I second that, but I won't have more until my supplier gets in" she said smiling. When he asked she thought about it for a moment. She didn't want to scare him. "They do random breathalyzer test. Be careful on the mornings that you drink. Drug dogs are sent around the school to check everywhere, so make sure their hidden in a neutral spot. Alcohol, they just check rooms and belongings, so try not to keep it there. Isolation for any of the offenses on that day are doubled in time. Then all the kids that are sent there, are the worst to deal with. I was arriving after a day that they had it and was stuck in a room with some anger management kid that beat the shit outta someone. He fucking pinned me to the wall for breaking the camera in the room. Needless to say I haven't been back there since"Long stories, from her past. Two years ago. She sighed. She didn't want to be a part of this place anymore. Her parents were fine with her drinking. Or they were, whatever she didn't want to deal with them anyways. Her birthday was coming up soon though. She would be 17, almost old enough to take herself out of this hell hole. Away from people wanting to help her, but in turn, away from the friends that she made. Putting away the alcohol and drugs didn't seem fun to her. She wanted to be a teenager and party. WORDS ;; 300ish STATUS ;; Finished TAGGED ;; merrick OUTFIT ;; hereNOTES ;;

"Yeah I could probably wait a while," he decided, still hoping that supplier of hers would get in sooner rather than later because now that he had access to the stuff, Merrick really didn't want to lose it and have to start all over again. It was a lot of effort that he really didn't want to have to put into this.
"Damn," Merrick said, "And I thought I'd seen some pretty bad stuff.. That's sounds pretty horrible," he said. He had seen people get beat up a lot but this was just high risk of getting thrown into that situation and he really wasn't looking forward to that. There were a lot of ways to get caught and for a guy who never really had a care in the world, it was a hell of a lot to think about and keep track of.
"So, those anger management kids, a lot of them around?" he asked, wanting very much to avoid all of them at all costs and secretly wishing they had labels on them so he could easily avoid an accidental run in... Actually, the idea of sticking labels of some kind on everyone actually made some sense.

Eliza smiled as he said that he could probably wait a while. She knew that Gavin wouldn’t take that long. When he said that he had thought that he had seen some pretty bad stuff she nodded. She deserved the strait jacket, but not being pinned to the wall. ”I haven’t met many. Theres probably not a lot around since many got sent out. Especially the one that pinned me. He didn’t last after that” she said smiling. You never knew what people were here for, unless of course you decided to talk to them. Alcoholics and druggies could usually be told apart because they’d go to their classes drunk or high, but the rest was usually a guessing game. "It's a lot to get used to," Merrick said. It was a huge change for him and it was entirely different to what he was used to. This was nothing like home and he had lost so much when he came here. For him it was like going from regular life to living like the Amish.
"I went from being the life of the party, getting everything I want to.. this. I mean, it's like.. Just talking to a person could potentially get you killed or something," he said as more scary thoughts ensued. He was spoiled, yeah. He wouldn't deny it but this was still kinda rough and he was certain he didn't deserve it, even if it was just scare tactics. Even if it was all just temporary.
"Well hey, if you survived then I guess there's still hope for me," he said, drinking to that, this time taking in a more sizable amount of alcohol. It was still bearable for now at least but Merrick was still trying to hold on to the hope that this was just some crazy dream and that he would wake up in his nice warm bed and go back to his old life.

Eliza nodded. He was right, it was plenty to get use to. Being sent away from your normal routine, away from your suppliers. Away from your family. Away from the things you love most. No freedom, well very little anyways. You were expected to go to class, and got isolation if you weren’t. ”I hear you there, I was the same way, party every night, getting what I wanted, to Oh hey. You’ve got a problem. You’re an alcoholic. Your getting out here” she said with a smile. Her parents never told her where she was going, just packed her bags and brought her along. Of course she had a bunch of alcohol. Eliza laughed as he said that if she survived then there was a possibility he could. She took a drink with him. If it wasn’t for the guards, she probably wouldn’t be alive right now anyways. WORDS ;; 150ish STATUS ;; Finished TAGGED ;; merrick OUTFIT ;; hereNOTES ;;
