history: Nathaniel was born in Detroit, Michigan. He was neglected as a child. Raised just by a mother who was barely there (and even when she was, she hardly paid much attention to him at all), he learned to do things for himself. She never showed him any affection and even when he did manage to make a friend in school he'd freak out at a simple hug because he just didn't know how to react or what to do with it. That meant fewer friends over time and then none.

He kept to himself but the damage was done. Not only was there neglect but also abuse from a number of boyfriends his mother had. One even took to sexually abusing the boy but thankfully that didn't last more than 6 months and Nathaniel quickly took to pretending it never happened. Still, he hated being touched, mostly when its unexpected. He can deal with a hand shake and simple things like that, most of the time because he knows it'll happen and expecting it makes it easier.
