dislikes: not knowing what’s happened and waking up from being someone else, feeling like she’s barely even there anymore, feeling that her other personalities are more real than she is, feeling depressed, when she wakes up with a hang over or feeling the affects of some drugs thanks to Roxie, a lot of what Roxie gets up to, it makes her feel self-conscious and violated.

best memory: when she has to pretend to be jasmine, she was actually happy, her family were great and she thought that everything was going to be normal

overall: Kiana’s a nice girl, she generally keeps to herself but for being the main personality, or at least the original one, she isn’t very dominant. In a way she’s sort of lost herself a bit over time. Mia has a habit of playing with her hair, she’s very child-like and is mentally about five or six years old most of the time. She took a lot of the pain and appears when things get violent but she very, very quickly forgets it and is generally happy. Paulie likes sports, and is not afraid to get dirty or do some real work. Roxie is highly sexual and likes to tease.

history: Kiana never knew a normal life. She was born in Honolulu and kidnapped at the age of 5 and her kidnappers expected a ransom. Unfortunately it never came. Things went horribly wrong and she was presumed dead. She never saw her parents again. Instead she was sent away. The men who took her worked for the same person and with a crime syndicate she was more valuable if she was simply moved around instead of being killed.
Next was a child pornography ring. This was where Mia was born. She was a girl that Kiana imagined up. A friend who was there for her to talk to when she was locked up alone and soon when things got really bad, Kiana would imagine that it was Mia that these things were happening to. It was Mia who cried and Mia who was afraid and things were okay for Kiana.
As she got a little older, things went in much the same direction until Kiana was about seven years old. Kiana was moved again, this time for a very special project. A girl her age who looked very much like her was kidnapped five years back and there was a reward for finding her. It was very much but they had plans for her. She was forced to be someone else, told that she should have another name and given a story she should memorize about what supposedly happened to her.
Close to her eighth birthday Jasmine Alexis Onakea found herself in Kauai with her parents. It was strange at first getting to know her parents… They weren’t really her parents but Kiana was beaten and forced to be this other person that soon she thought she really was Jasmine (but Jasmine was never one of her personalities, she was just a mash that Kiana wore for that time). So it was strange at first getting to know the parents who lost their daughter when she was only two years old but thing were nice. She was happy and she thought she would be happy but after eight months of being Jasmine, Kiana was taken again. This time it was easier. It was the man who had forced her to be someone else. She saw him just outside her school and she knew who he was. It was easier this time because all he did was tell her that she had to go with him and the girl was too afraid to say no.
So the girl was back again, they called her Kiana and it almost made her want to cry because it was wrong. She was Jasmine and Kiana didn’t feel like her name. It was confusing and she hated it. The things she had to do and the things that they made her do were horrible but there wasn’t much that Kiana could do. At this point she had forgotten about Mia but the personality still came out when things got too bad, leaving Kiana relatively fine.
They would make her dress really girly and appear to be fragile; it was what worked for her and what they wanted her to be for their clients. It had been going on since she was about ten or so but the girlyness really hit its peak when she was around thirteen. She was getting older and they were trying to make her stay young. By this time, Paulie made an appearance. He never really had a gender but was more boy than girl. Paulie was basically Kiana as a tom boy. He was someone who was stronger who could fight back if he needed to. He had the strength and confidence that she lacked. She never knew he even existed but he was there from time to time. When things got too hard to manage or when Kiana just wanted to shrink away and hide, Paulie would emerge.
Her final personality came around this time as well. If Paulie came out and she needed to be a sweet little girly girl, then Kiana would be beaten and although she wouldn’t remember, she would feel it after. This was where Roxie made her appearance. She was able to enjoy it. She enjoyed being sexualised and playing along with the fantasy made her quite popular.
She was about sixteen when she was found. The FBI stormed the place she was kept in and Kiana, along with a number of other girls were taken and then started the process of finding their homes. The problem was that Kiana was thought to be Jasmine only when they called her that, she denied it and got quite upset because this wasn’t who she was. She told them that her name was Kiana but she couldn’t remember her last name or much else.
They finally worked out that she was from Honolulu and with the missing person’s report, they found her parents and her name but she didn’t feel like that person. There was a sense of separation. Kiana wasn’t who she was, it was her name but she didn’t feel like she knew who she was and the other personalities became more dominant. Finding this, she was diagnosed with D.I.D. before her parents even saw her. They were told that it was best if they sent her somewhere where they could understand her condition. She still had school to finish and Hawthorne with its counsellors and doctors was a good possibility and so she was sent there.
