"Yeah, I barely noticed myself," he admitted, looking around again. It was quiet and with the sun going down, it was getting a little darker. Merrick never minded the darkness, he liked the night time but there better things to do than to sit outside in the darkness. No, there were plenty of fun things to do inside too. "You're kinda distracting like that.. But in a good way," he said, nodding a little in support of his own statement.
Picking up his phone, Merrick turned the music off and stood before sliding it back into his pocket. Stretching a little, he looked back at May. "I had them sent away when you weren't looking," he joked, "So we could be alone, ya know?" he told, winking at her jokingly before laughing a little. "But seriously, they're probably all inside having dinner or something," he said. It was about the right time for it not that he was hungry. In fact, Merrick would have been happy to skip dinner and just hang out with this girl some more.
"Are you hungry?" he asked, looking at her, wondering if she wanted to go get some food and maybe hang out and talk some more. He wouldn't mind having some Nachos or something and it wouldn't be difficult to get something sent in from off campus, especially with the contacts he had. The only thing he couldn't get from them was alcohol but then he has Eliza for that.
"We could maybe get some nachos and hang out on the roof or something," he suggested with a shrug. It was that or he'd have to head back to his room alone and think about this awesome girl he just met and when he'd see her again.

"I don't notice much of anything when I'm caught up in something else though.. I'm not surprised I missed it" She laughed a little bit then listened when he started to talk. Turning her attention back to him instead of at the empty place around them.
God, this guy was charmer. For a moment, she wondered if he was just an act. But then after thinking about it again, decided it didn't matter much to her. It was nice to feel like more then something nice to look at. Although, he had made a reference to her looks, it was only half of it. She grinned a him a little with a short shake of her head.
"You wish you really had me alone" She teased back with an accusing look. She was only teasing and by this point she was pretty sure she could tease him about it. but, she was wondering what it would be like to actually be alone with him. If he would still be this sweet guy, or turn into a creep or something. May supposed it was possible, because really she didn't know him that well but he didn't seem like the type. May usually had good judgement and she figured if he was creep, she could always stop talking to him.
"I'm always hungry Babe" She said with a grin looking back at the school. And it was true, for a girl as small as May she eat a lot. It was alright though, because if she eat anything she wanted and still stay thin like she was. Why not? some girls would kill to have that, and May took full advantage of it.
He mentioned nacho's and she laughed. "Uhm, yeah! it's cheese" And the thought of being with on the roof was nice to. Only, she would try and keep that part to herself.

Merrick stood there, hands in his pockets, surveying the scene before them. He loved this time in the evening. It was like the world was dimming and everything was going quiet, but where he was from, as soon as that happened, the neon lights would take over and the sights and sounds were just mesmerising and amazing. Things had been different since he came here. Everything was quieter. It was strange at first but Merrick soon got used to it. He had to work on sleeping a little earlier because sleeping in wasn't an option with school and all.
Checking his watch, the time made sense. Merrick was dressed very casually but it was all stylish. He took great pride in the way he was dressed, going with designer clothes or anything he thought looked good on him.
"Well hey, I wouldn't be opposed to the idea," he told her, he'd gladly admit it because it was the truth. He did like her but even if they were alone, he wouldn't be against the idea of just talking and generally having a good time. She was just so easy to joke with and just generally have a good time with, it didn't even matter what they were doing.
"Good, cause so am I," he told her with a hint of a smirk. He liked food as much as the next guy... Unless the next guy happened to be manorexic. "I knew you'd like, I know where to get the best nachos too, hang on a sec," he said, turning when he told her to wait for a second as he pulled his phone out his and dialled a number on his speed dial.
After a second his call was answered. "Hey dude, I need some nachos.. Yeah from that place, and make it extra cheesy. Uh huh, for two. Yeah, let me know when you get there. See ya," he said before hanging up and turning back to the girl. "Okay, it'll get here when it gets here," he told her. "Wanna head up to the roof?" he asked.
[[OOC: we can skip to the roof cause them getting there might not be interesting to write, unless you wanna do that, up to you]]

Merrick called someone on the phone, and she merely raised an eyebrow at him. 'dude..really?' she laughed a little bit as she crossed her arms and waited for him to finish. He thought he was big shit didn't he? That was alright, May didn't mind. Maybe he was big shit, she didn't really know that much about his personal life. But, she did really hope to and when he finished with his phone call they started to walk in the direction to get to the roof.
They weren't really suppose to be on the roof, but hardly anyone cared about that. May was up there rather often, and she hadn't been caught yet. Or at least, as far as he knows no one knows about it. Maybe they did and just decided not to say anything. Afterall, what was it really hurting? The roof was a quiet place that the students could just hang out on. She liked it, and as they walked through the door unto the roof she grinned as she walked over towards the edge.
There was a wall..kinda. It came up to about her bellybutton. But she was a little small too, so she doubted it would come up that far for Merrick. She turned around and leaned against the wall, putting her palms on either side of her on top of the brick and looked at him. There was a little breeze, and it was blowing her hair back behind her head. That was nice, she didn't have to move it herself.
"So this is the roof..." She said a little awkwardly. May didn't have a lot of experience with the opposite sex and didn't really know what was suppose to happen when no one else was wrong. She was a little nervous now but smiled as she watched him.
{{Yeah. I kinda made it short getting there so we could get to the good stuffs. xD}}

Merrick saw the look on her face when he made that phone and Merrick knew that it wasn't exactly normal to go around making calls to get people to things for you but he couldn't help but take it a little further. "If he isn't here in 20 minutes, he's fired," he joked. The guy was basically being paid to live in town and keep an eye on Merrick. His father wouldn't allow anything to happen to his son and only heir to a whole empire. No, that just wouldn't do.
Merrick had been a little concerned about getting into trouble when he first got to Hawthorne, but only because there was no one around to get him out of it. As time passed, he got over it and learned to be okay with breaking a few rules, or least learned which rules were alright to break. He knew Eliza was always up there so it couldn't have been that bad.
Merrick walked out into the roof not far behind May. He followed as she moved to the edge and sat down beside her. It was kind of nice up there. "Yeah, great view from up here," he said with a smile, though he was looking at her and not out at the scenery.
"So tell me about yourself. Where did you live, what was it like, what school did you go to," he said, giving her several good points to start with. He just wanted to get to know her a little better, plus they had some time to kill before their dinner got there.

May watched as he walked over and sat down, so she did the same thing. She had her back against the wall, and her knees slightly bent so that she could rest her arms on them. Her body was a bit close to Merrick, but she didn't mind it that much. And she doubted he did either.
His comment made her grin, but she didn't comment on it. What would she even say to that? She certainly wouldn't disagree with it.. those kind of people just annoyed May. Why the hell do girls tell guys their lying when they are given a compliment? That must really make the guy feel like a jerk and May liked this kid. She didn't want him to doubt his thoughts about her.
He started to talk again, and she turned her head so that the side of her face was parrelel with the short wall they were leaning against. So she rested it there, so that she could watch him and she grinned.
May wasn't sure what his fascination was with her, but she didn't mind it so much. But, on the other hand, May wasn't a huge fan of talking about herself this much. So she just shook her head a little bit and laughed lightly.
"I'm just May.. and I'm from a small town. the people know everything about everyone.. It's annoying" She shrugged and crossed her fingers so that they held her hands together on her knee's. "My school was small and I hated it. Glade to be gone, this place is a lot better if you ask me" She grinned a little bit and continued to look at him.
"But I've told you about me a few times now.. You should tell me somethings I think" she said with a small laugh.
May just..couldn't stop smilling around this guy. It was different, but very refreshing for her.

Merrick caught the grin and smiled himself. He actually liked being around her. Merrick could talk to the girl for hours. Hell, he could do more than talk but he was less likely to instigate this this early on, especially since there was always a chance of his advances being unwanted. It was rare but it could happen.
"I can't even imagine not living in a city," he told her. He had everything within reach. The place was always full of people and events and he was never bored. There was always something going on and it only took one phone call to find out all about it.
Merrick just watched her listened. He wanted to know more about the girl but the details still eluded him. He figured that it was just the sort of thing that would take time. "About me?" he asked, thinking about it for a second, what should he tell her? Where would he start?
"I was born in Las Vegas.. I spent most of my life living in a hotel but I kinda liked it that way," he told her, thinking about more to say. "Went to a private school, barely attended most of the classes," he told her. "Mom decided that there was too much parting and drinking and general fun so I ended up here," he explained. "It was this or rehab or military school and I reeally didn't want that so I guess this was the better option," he admitted.

Honestly, May didn't want those Nacho's to come. When they got here, they would stop talking like this so they could eat. And really, May wasn't good at small talk but this? She could do this for hours, and as she watched him she grinned a little more thinking about it. Before she knew it, the sun was going to be up. And May wouldn't be able to remember when it became morning.. Where all the time had went. She could see that with this guy, but then she wondered if she could ever have that. With her disorder.. He seemed alright with it for now, but that could very easily change and become something else. And normally it did. But, it never started out like this, with May being so open about everything.
She should probably tell him her legal name, but she didn't care for it that much. And it was..it just was. She like being called May and to her, Sasha didn't exist. Sasha was a broken girl, torn apart by the things she had been through. May couldn't remember them, that part of her didn't exist. So why not go by something else?
The city.. Eh, May liked it she guessed but preferred the quiet of smaller places. Not that the place she had lived was a ghost town or anything. They had stores and a small mall but it was just that. Small. Everyone knew everything and that just wasn't something May was cut out for. It had been her mothers choice, after her father had died.
He started to tell her some things about him, and she listened intently. She was really curious about him. His past, his future. What did this guy want out of life? Maybe that was a bit much, but May thought a lot about her future, and if she could even have one with her disorder.
"I'm happy your here.. otherwise we never would have met Merrick" She said it with a soft tone and still had a small smile on her face. May didn't say things like that, and she rarely thought them. "I'm glade you asked me to come up here" She finished, a little bit quieter.

"I am too," he told with a smile, his hand casually moving over hers just a little. They were so close, it was hard not to do it and Merrick couldn't think of a single reason why he shouldn't. He definitely wouldn't have met her if he hadn't come here. Merrick would have still been back home, partying, over-doing it then doing it all again the next night. Nothing would have changed but then... Change was a good thing in this case. He had met May and he doubted he would ever have met a girl like her back home.
She was going all quiet again and it just made him smile. "It is kinda nice up here," he admitted with a smile, though most of what made it nice up there was her. She was just easy to be around, down to earth and she was just herself. Merrick appreciated those qualities because they were hard to find. Even in a t-shirt and a pair of jeans the girl looked great. The girls back home would dress up and all they seemed to care about was image, money and status. May didn't seem like that at all and Merrick liked that about her.
When his phone rang, Merrick pulled it out of his pocket, "that's probably the nachos," he told her, answering it. "Hey, yeah great," he said, looking down at the grounds below. "Do you think you could bring it up here?" he asked, "No, don't let anyone see you," he told him before saying good bye and hanging up. With a sigh he turned back to May, the interruption was inevitable but this was still nice. "It'll be here in a minute," he told her.

He agreed with her statement, and her grin only got bigger. Not that she was sure it was really something that could happen. Maybe it was in spirit that her grins were getting wider every time he said something, or looked at her, or laughed, or..well. Anything he seemed to do really. God, this was crazy. May wasn't like this, she wasn't.. girlie. But he made her feel like it, and certainly not in a bad way. It was nice, and she was really starting to like this guy.
His hand touched her and for half a second she tensed a little and then relaxed. The touch wasn't unwanted, it was just unexpected. She grinned, and turned a little pink. "Sorry, you surprised me is all" May was speaking gently, not wanting to disturb the sense of peace that had come about them.
He had a look in his eye, and May wanted him to kiss her. Not a sex-having kiss of course, but just a kiss. It would be.. reassuring and certainly give her more of a reason to stay. Though, it wasn't like she really needed one. She would kiss him, but May didn't do that. Not a fan of making the first move was certainly a way to describe her as far as romantic things went. But, she did like to be wooed. The only problem was that it never seemed to happen to her.
She was pretty wooed now though, despite the simplicity of the situation. They were on a roof, for a school filled with crazy people. Or at least, those who society deemed crazy.
His phone rang, and May pouted. actually pouted, but when he started to talk she bit her lip gently and looked forward. His hand was still on top of hers, so she took her other hand and gently played with the tips of his long fingers while the hand sitting under his turned over and intertwined fingers with his.
"Good.." Her fingers traced light lines from his wrist to the ends of his fingers then up again. She did this, while watching him.

"I'm sorry," he said, he probably shouldn't have done that or at least waited a little. He hadn't even done much, if it had been a girl back home things would have progressed a hell of a lot quicker and probably skip a few of the more subtle steps along the way. Though she did seem like the type of girl who'd be going at snail speeds with this sort of thing and Merrick was alright with that. Sure, he'd want to skip to the good parts, he was a guy, it was practically required of him but he could wait. He only just met this girl after all.
Looking at her, he wanted to kiss her but Merrick couldn't tell how she'd react to that. It would probably be a little too much and maybe it'd be going too far. He wasn't sure but judging by her reaction before, he didn't want to catch her off guard or anything, so he chose not to do it. Besides, being completely sober make him not do a hell of a lot..
Merrick didn't mind having her hand on his, whatever it was she was doing, it was nice. He even held her hand when she laced her fingers betweens his. There was no way that Merrick was going to stop that, the arrival of dinner would probably do that for him. Looking at her again, he couldn't think of anything else to do other than kiss her but when the door opened, he pulled away and stood up. Moving forward to the man he took the food and spoke to him for a second before the man left. Merrick moved back and sat back where he was. "You gotta tell me what you think of it," he told her, holding the container in front of her.

She laughed. "You don't have anything to be sorry about!" she said with another grin, still playing with his hand. He was so sweet, even if he didn't think he was. And even if Merrick hadn't always been like this, that didn't matter to May. Because he was here now, and being the guy that she had met. So she shrugged, and touched her finger tips to his soft skin and looked over to him.
She couldn't get over the color of his eyes. They were green, but then blue at the same time. She just smiled at him, and his bright pale eyes. Really, they might even be prettier then his face and that was saying something. Merrick was certainly a good looking guy and that only helped in her interest for him. It wasn't a friendly interest.. May wanted him to be hers but she could never just come out and say it. That was..way to much for her at this point. Already, this day had her doing things she never did. May didn't want to add to the list just yet.. the doctors might give her another personality or something to explain and really the last thing she needed was more medication.
"Merrick I.." The door opened just then and May looked at the intruder. Those stupid nachos.. She smiled a little bit as he pulled from her to go and get them. And when his hand wasn't holding hers anymore, she made a slight pouting face but changed it into a grin as she watched him with the guy.
He had this thing about him..like he knew what he was doing. Merrick had the vibe that just told May he was confident in himself and she liked that. May had confidence to, but maybe not as much as this guy. It would be hard to compete with that, but she didn't mind it. May wasn't looking for a competition, she was looking for a friend. A good friend, and with this guy she was actually thinking about more then just friendship.
He said down again, and she turned her body to face him. Crossing her legs over eachother she laughed at his comment. "Alright" She mentioned, taking the container and setting it down she removed the lid. They did look good, and with another small laugh she picked up a chip that had a nice amount of cheese on it and stuck it on her mouth. It was a little awkward, him just watching her chewing but she guessed it didn't matter.
With a soft swallow she laughed and nodded. "Your right, these are epic"

The moment seemed to last forever with nothing really happening but as soon as she spoke, he was up and headed to the door. What was that about? Bad timing? Or was he subconsciously sabotaging himself? Well, Merrick had never been the dating type so perhaps that had something to do with it. He was worried about how that might go. He liked May, she was sweet and nice and hell, if he were to date anyone she'd be number one of that list but nothing ever lasted. And he knew how that went. He had his dad's history to go on. The man had been married 5 times, nothing ever worked out. Merrick was even certain that if there was a son exchange program he'd have him out the door many years ago. It was a pretty negative way to look at him but seeing such a sweet girl with that gorgeous smile, it was hard to imagine her looking sad but Merrick didn't want to see it. So why do something that might go badly anyway?
Usually Merrick was a decision maker. He knew what he wanted and he went for it. He did what he needed to do and he had bucket loads of leadership skills, most of which he picked up from his dad and his commanding ways. The guy could lead a whole army if he wanted to and Merrick very much wanted to be like him.
Getting back over there, Merrick watched as May tried one, waiting for the verdict. He thought they were great but he needed a genuine cheese lover to concur with his opinion. Or at least for her to agree with it because some how, some where during the day, her opinion started to matter quite a lot to him. Merrick found himself watching her, not realising it might be weird. He was just lost in thoughts, she was just so beautiful, even when she was just eating nachos! How did that happen? Was it even normal to think that?
"Good," he said, leaning back and grabbing a chip and eating it. This was nice, just relaxing, eating nachos, chilling out. Thoughts of wanting a drink didn't even cross his mind because this was much better.

She shook her head a little bit and looked at him. He was watching her in a different way and she brought her hand over her chin thinking she had cheese on it or something but when she looked at her hand there hadn't been anything there.
"Do I have something in my teeth or something?" She asked, running her tongue along her front teeth. Most girls probably wouldn't have just came out and asked, but May wasn't girly like that. She had never been, not really. If she had a choice, May would wear sweat pants and a tanktop over some kind of skirt or dress. She never wore heals, they were uncomfortable and with her luck she would fall and break something. Bring a whole new meaning to the phrase 'eat shit' and she would. She would eat shit so hard if she ever went anywhere in heals. May wore her hair down, naturally wavy. No make-up. She was just that way, and always had been.
So when Merrick was looking at her like that, she became self conscious which was odd. May had no problems with herself. Not her weight, or her face. She liked her hair and her personality. Or lat least the one she knew anyway.
She smiled at him as he leaned back and popped a chip of his own into his mouth and started to chew it. He looked comfy, though she wished she still had his hand in hers. But she smiled anyway, and reached for another chip

"Nah, sorry," Merrick say laughing a little. "I kinda zone out and stare sometimes," he said, looking away for a second. He didn't mean to do it but if he had his way, he would have no trouble with just staring at her. She was beautiful after all and definitely easy on the eyes. "Besides, you're kinda nice to look at anyway," he added quietly with a smile before grabbing another chip and eating it.
They really were great nachos and all but this wasn't something that Merrick did very much of. He didn't actually date or at least he hadn't in the past. There was just no need to at all. He was constantly around beautiful women who actually wanted to be around him for one reason or another, either to suck up and get a good word in with his dad and maybe a promotion or to get a job or to get a couple of minutes stage time in hopes of getting spotted by some record producer or to get in with a few of the connections he had, directors, actors, various other VIPs.
It was all well and good but it meant that he was always at clubs or fancy restaurants, places that knew who he was. So sitting on a roof with a girl he was interested in, just having nachos and talking was definitely knew. Though even Merrick was mildly surprised that he hadn't done it before. He was laid back and chilled out with most things so a nice relaxed time on a roof would be something he could see himself doing but the opportunity and even the thought of it just never occurred to him.
"This is probably going to sound really weird but," he began, "You definitely don't have a boyfriend or anything, right?" he asked. It was kind of random and out of no where but the thought had just occurred to him. With Merrick he could never really be sure because back home, there was always a lot of flirting and some of them had boyfriends and even husbands so it was best to check these things pretty early on, not that he ever really had before but this was different. A lot of things about today had been different.
