First day at Hawthorne wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. In fact, he thought he was in for a school full of nut jobs with white padded walls and what not. But no, it was just like a normal high school. Or at least, how he had thought a normal high school would look and act. Coming from a private school where gossip got you to the top and drugs were a necessity, this place actually looked a bit peaceful. Granted he had only been there for a day, so he was sure chaos was sure to ensue in the near future. And the way he thought about it, shit happens, and then you die. It was just a matter of time.
But as for the current time, Nicky was making his way toward his dorm room with his many bags. It was unusual, having to carry his own bags, he definitely wasn't used to it in the least bit. But there wasn't much he could do about it, and he definitely wasn't going to bitch and complain either. So it looked like he was going to have to grow used to doing his own thing... Which would take time, but he was willing to do it. Hell, he was willing to try anything now that he thought about it.
Upon arriving at the door, he just stood there staring at it for a moment, not sure whether to knock or to just walk in. Rightfully, seeing as it was now his dorm as well, he should be able to walk right in. As well, there was that aspect of both privacy and respect. Nicky was sorta caught in between. He adjusted his bags to leave one hand free and decided to pull the two together. Knocking a few times, he turned the handle and pushed the door open a bit, peaking his head in. "Hello? Is anyone in?"

It had been about a week since Zachery first got here and he was starting to get his groove back. He'd reconnected with his older sister a bit and met up with some old friends, which in his book made for a pretty good start to anything. Maybe it was just the calm before the storm. Things were bound to be shaken up, because they hardly ever stayed simple for long.
With a pair of black-framed square glasses sitting on his nose and his entwined fingers resting on his abs, Zach had dozed off while reading a comic book. He'd managed to find one at the gas station, though it wasn't hardly as good as his first edition collection back home. That was one of the few things that he'd never sell, not even to get a fix. His blonde hair was a little ruffled, yet it fell perfectly back into place when the X-Men comic slid down and hit the floor with a loud thud, waking him up with a jolt. "I didn't do it!" he mumbled urgently under his breath, before his eyes refocused and he found himself completely alone in the dorm. He smiled sheepishly.
Stretching his arms up high over his head, the blonde took off his reading glasses and folded them, leaning over to place them on the nightstand. Then he snatched the comic up off of the floor and as he plopped back on to his bed, his gaze went to the door when someone knocked. Was he expecting company? Maybe it was a nurse doing a check. He hadn't been informed that he would be having a roommate yet, so when the door opened and another guy peered inside, Zach's lips naturally formed into a smile.
"Hey," he said as he moved up off the mattress and over to open the door the rest of the way. Yeah, so maybe he stared at the guy a little longer than necessary; sue him. Then his eyes caught sight of the bags in Nicky's hands and it clicked. "I'm Zach. Need any help with those? I'm guessing either someone liked me so much that they stuffed themselves into one of those bags, or you're somebody's roommate."
